I originally read this as defication of zombies. Do zombies poop?
Well, speaking for myself, I don’t have any beliefs - at least not about things I can’t possibly have any knowledge of - like god. So the catholics killing jews and heretics is one bunch of people with a set of irrational beliefs killing another bunch of people with irrational beliefs.
Atheists killing religious people is a bunch of people with no irrational beliefs killing a bunch of people with irrational beliefs. So it’s better. You see the difference?
I don’t know. I think the OP is flawed in premise. We should execute everyone who wears a lucky shirt to the golf course or the bowling alley (the more hideous the shirt, the more prolonged the execution…)
This thread does wonders for my ignore list.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
Belief in wonders, eh? You’re going on the list. (The List, that is; not the ignore list. You know what I mean.)
Well, logically those devoured brains need to come out one end or the other of the zombie sooner or later, or you’d see more fat zombies.
I don’t believe that.
Cite please. I know plenty of Atheists with irrational beliefs.
I’m sure people of any religion (and I do define Atheism as a religion*) are absolutely certain that their beliefs are entirely rational and it is only the other religions that are completely unfounded.
- I define “Religion” as being; A system of beliefs about the nature of the Universe and Humanity’s place in it.
Yeah, I know. Why bother with discussion, debate, and pitting on a message board?
Atheism just means that you lack a particular variety of irrational belief; there are others. For example, believing that it’s a good idea to try to exterminate a nuclear armed class of people that outnumbers you by at least 10-to-1.
Or believing it is a good idea to exterminate people in general.
Well it’s an unpleasant task. I never said I’d enjoy it.
Well I don’t have any beliefs about those things. I don’t have the faintest idea what the nature of the Universe is or what Humanity’s place in it is and neither does anybody else on the planet.
Anybody who thinks they do know is holding an irrational belief.
Well; exterminating people might or might not be a rational idea. There is such a thing as “rational, but evil”.
You’ve got it backwards. Atheists have irrational beliefs, while religious people have rational beliefs.
Live in Opposite World, do you?
And what if he says no?
And what if he’s actually a runner-up?
I live in the real world, where religious people demonstrate basic common sense while most atheists can be depended on to do stuff that’s completely nuts on a regular basis. Like starting this thread, for instance.
No, I meant like if he said “No, I don’t live in Opposite World,” then it could mean that he actually does, because if he lived in such a world then no would mean yes. Or maybe he truly doesn’t live in such a world, in which case no means no. Thus asking such a question is futile. And that’s only for a negative response. Heaven help you if they answer yes.
Not sure what you meant by runner-up.
