Rudy Boesch sounds good; he actually had a pretty good chance to win the first one. I’d also like Kelly Clarkson for the same reason, and let’s throw in Colleen Haskell for good measure (easy on the eyes and ears and would’ve easily outlasted Kelly if she won that one IC). Ethan Zohn, Tina Wesson, and Vecepia Lewis (is that right?) all got really lucky at some point; let’s see if any of them can do it again.
We should also definitley have some players who made rookie mistakes and deserve a shot at redemption. Sean Kenniff, obviously; now that he’s a lot wiser, let’s see if he can actually figure out how to win this thing. Michael Skupin (horrific fire accident), that other Mike who tipped his hand at the IC, you get the picture. Definitely Colby Donaldson as well, who’s probably sick of explaining himself and deserves this more than anybody.
Who I don’t want:
Richard Hatch - Maybe if someone else won Survivor 1, but as it is, I don’t see any possible positive outcome for him. He’s actually facing a triple whammy here: Built into an almighty supervillain by CBS, not at all popular (probably more so since going back on his promise to build that camp with the winnings), and, of course, a very dangerous competitor. If he has any sense, he’ll quit while he’s ahead and spare himself the humiliation of an early exit.
Susan Hawk - With the supreme danger of volatile players with boulder-sized chips on their shoulders now well-known, she’s going to be marked from day 1. I don’t see her lasting to the merge no matter what.
Jerri Manthey - Lord, PLEASE, no. I can’t stand another millisecond of her screeching. I don’t care how good a player she is, or how devious she schemes, or this, or that, yada yada, NONE OF IT is worth LISTENING to her ever again.
Jenna Morasco - Like Richard, except that she doesn’t even have deviousness going for her, and now everyone knows that they gotta take her out early before she becomes a threat. Will go out early without making an impact.
