Alleged "coup plot" in Sudan; now what?

More news from Sudan: The governor of West Darfur (where a genocidal guerilla war rages between nomads and farmers) has accused the opposition Popular National Congress of a plot to overthrow the goverrnment. The PNC denies the charges and says the evidence was fabricated. 70 PNC members have been arrested and at least one has died in custody. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/3659268.stm and http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/international/international-sudan-darfur.html (second link is to a New York Times story – registration is required but free).

This apparently has nothing to do, directly, with the civil war – more or less on hold for the moment – between the government and the secessionist southern provinces.

What next? Is any of this going to spill over into other countries? Will the international community get involved?
