Seriously, what kind of drugs were Obsidian on to let this through? It’s impossible. My eyes are bleeding. I’ve been trying to hack a terminal in the tutorial for like 20 minutes. I finally threw my headset across the room in disgust.
Anyway to avoid having to hack? If the answer is no, I’m uninstalling this shit.
The game was fun up until this point. This vexes me mightily!
First, are you sure you’re doing it right? Hacking is remarkably easy once you get the hang of it. Second, you never HAVE to hack.
At least in the tutorial it seems to be required. So what’s the trick? And of course the terrible mouse implementation on the right side only makes it worse.
Look for the string which doesn’t move. The mouse controls do feel awkward at first, but once you get used to them it’s easier than than lockpicking minigame. Try pulling the mouse (right-hand) string downward quickly, so you more easily hit strings in the lower section.
