aluminum vs Saran Wrap

This subject is obviously far too heavy for one of the teeming millions like me to weigh in on. Luckily for me, I don’t have to worry because I’m so thick-headed that X-Rays and such can’t possibly penetrate my skull. :smack:

I assume this is in reference to this column (“Do tinfoil helmets provide adequate protection against mind control rays?”) ?

Saran Wrap and similar products were reformulated a few years back and aren’t worth a damn any more, whether for bowl covering or mind-ray deflection. You can get a sheet of bond paper to wrap around a bowl and stay in place better than modern plastic wrap.

Stay with tin foil, dull side out, for ray-control helmets.

Glad Press-n-seal is magic. Too expensive for me, but works wonderfully.

And the only foil worth buying is the heavy-duty stuff that comes in a roll 3’ long.

Many many years ago, possibly even before I was born (I’m 35), my mother bought one of these, the 500 foot long by 2 feet wide roll of heavy duty Reynold’s foil. She’s still got at least 300 feet left. She has a similar roll of plastic wrap. I’m certain I’m going to inherit both of them someday.

We buy 2-packs of Reynold’s at Sam’s Club, the 250 sq ft rolls, for about the same price as 75-ft rolls at most groceries. That’s about a year’s supply, between cooking, baking and government helicopter patrols.
