Am I being unreasonable here? (Infopop UBB thing)

Here’s the short story:

  1. I upgrade my site’s UBB (messageboard).
  2. It doesn’t work.
  3. I call Infopop for help.
  4. They won’t help me because I don’t have a license.
  5. I offer to submit proof that I did indeed have a license.
  6. They “do me a favor” by issuing me a new license, even though I haven’t paid for one.
  7. I repeat that I did pay for the damn thing.
  8. They don’t respond.

Hmm, looking at the above, I’m thinking that maybe this doesn’t translate well into a short version. For the curious and/or bored at work - the long version is here.

Most agree with me that Infopop is being a tremendous pain in the butt about this, and I should be upset. Others maintain that I should just let it go and move on. I can see the validity of both arguments - but I want to be mad dammit! What do you guys think?

Wow, that sucks.

I’d keep hammering away. The forces of logic and reason cannot be ignored for long. Either that or go Unabomber on them.

[sub]I take that back. It was just a joke. Don’t ban me, please? …{sob}[/sub]

Seriously, though, if you can wait for Ikonboard 3 (http://www.ikonboard.com) then give that a try. It’s free. So is phpBB, Phorum, XMB, and plenty of other php/mySQL bulletin boards that I find to be tons faster than a comparable board that uses Perl and flat files.
