So anyhoo, last night me and the missus are, well, you know…
Quite vigorously, as it happens. I had been moving workstations earlier in the day, so I was fairly tired, and probably overexerted. Just at the moment of triumph, I had this huge white-hot burst of pain explode from the back of my head and reach around to my temple. It honestly felt like I’d been hit in the head. Lasted about ten minutes, then subsided to a throb, which went away with Aleve.
It was the very definition of “mixed feelings”. On the one hand, my body is experiencing the most sublime sensation it’s likely to-on the other, I feel like Kennedy in Dealey Plaza.
Anyone have any idea on what the HELL that was? Ever happen to you? I’ve already ruled out a stroke or aneurysm, since I’m still walking around and not slurring my speech or anything, but it made me quite concerned at the point.

Thanks, Ellen. I’ve had stuff like this happen before, but really, this was like a hammer hitting my head. Wierd. Maybe I’ll insist on less strenuous activties this weekend.

Although the term coital cephalalgia sounds dire or life-threatening or something. Leave it to the medical community to come up with such a name.

That happened to me quite a few years back. I’ve gotten leg cramps during sex before and I find them amusing (once the pain goes away). But the headaches only happened twice (in two days). It was the worst pain EVER. I was afraid to have another orgasm (I got over that quick :D).
It’s never happened again either and I didn’t die, however, YMMV
