Did my number of posts decrease since my last visit? I was pretty sure I had over 100 posts, but my last one showed only 98 (this post should say “99”).
Was there some sort of board cleaning that caused this, or is my memory playing tricks on me?

They prune some of the useless old threads from time to time. Either that, or the database undergoes some sort of radioactive decay, with a fairly long half-life.
Now that I think about it, I recall that the thread about Wally’s death seems to have disappeared, and I can’t imagine that it would get pruned as useless. So either things slip through the cracks, or perhaps someone hits the wrong button from time to time.
It’s a rare thing when we delete a thread, especially one with a lot of posts in it, but it does happen sometimes.
The post counts are approximations at best anyway and I would not be surprised if some of the routine maintenance that we undergo from time to time affected the counter. I don’t know what, if anything, we can do about this.
Besides, what really counts in a post is the content; everything else is meaningless, wouldn’t you say?
