Am I the only Mike & Molly fan?

I really enjoy it. It consistently makes me laugh, chuckle and guffaw.

And I WANT Peggy Biggs’ dog Jim. I don’t know what that ugly thing is, but I want it!

I really like it, too. I feel as though Mike and Molly’s relationship is very true to life, and the show never fails to make me laugh.

I will admit, however, that aside from the near constant stream of references to shaved pubic hair, I can never quite recall any *details *from the show. It’s like cotton candy for my brain…warm and fuzzy and fun, but it vanishes almost immediately upon consumption.

I think you are whooshing me or are being odd.

Good luck to you in your sad life.

WTF? She said she really likes the show!!! Tough room.

I came in to say I loved this show, but now I’m afraid to say anything.

This is rude and not appropriate for Cafe Society. Please don’t do it again.

Was it something I said?

(I’m guessing it was the pubic hair comment, but that was dead serious. The writers of M&M are positively obsessed with shaved pubic hair. They’ve had as many as three pubic hair jokes in a single episode!)

I only saw the first two episodes. Maybe it has found its stride since then, but what I remember of it was: fat joke, fat joke, ethnic joke, another fat joke.

I like the dynamics between Mike and Molly, too - it’s not completely one-sided - he’s not a complete idiot man-child, and she’s not a complete emasculating bitch, which has sort of been the default for tv couples for the last couple of years.

It amuses me pretty consistently. I do like that the principles mostly act like grown-ups.

A single episode having three pubic hair jokes… is comedy.

Multiple episodes with multiple pubic hair jokes is an obsession.

Oh, there are.
(Seriously, I can’t have been the only person to notice it, right?)

I watch it occasionally, but I can’t see how they can get many season out of this sitcom.
It makes me laugh.

I don’t watch sitcoms much any more, and the previews/commercials I saw for this didn’t look too promising. However, seeing the woman who plays Molly on SNL has made me curious, because on that show she was hilarious. If I can remember when it’s on I will have to give it a try.

The commercials have kept me far far away from the show.

It’s a Chuck Lorre sitcom, but it is very different from his other sitcoms. The other ones (Dharma and Greg, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory) are extremely well written, with a very Lorre perfect-rhythm snappy crisp timing to the jokes. Mike and Molly just isn’t. It is still watchable but just not in the same league.

I watch it, it is one of 8 or so sitcoms I look for. I agree that it seems a little off for a Chuck Lorre sitcom. However there just aren’t that many new shows out there that I like enough to watch.

I get a kick out of the stoner sister. It is like the show is a campaign for the legalization of grass.

I watch it. Not one of my faves but I throw it in the mix every week. I think Melissa McCarthy is absolutely adorable. The sister is ok, she’s growing on me. Mike is pretty cool but the rest of the cast is just a weird parade of cliches. Especially Mike’s partner’s grandma. Seems like they just bring here out every episode to say “DY-NO-MITE!” and put her back in her bedroom.

I like it. It’s not the best sitcom ever made but it’s far from the worst. IMO the second season hasn’t been quite as sharp as the first, but it’s still consistently funny.

Fun Fact: The character Vince Maranto is named after a comedian from Chicago. I know him!

Precisely my problem with the show. I think that McCarthy and Gardell are good together and more than capable of carrying a show. I wouldn’t miss any of the supporting characters. I’ve liked Swoozie Kurtz as an actress for a long time, but find the Joyce character unpleasant. Similarly, I think the actress playing the sister handles the material they give her ably, I just don’t care for that material. Ditto Vince.

As I think about it (too much, clearly) it might be that there are way too many supporting parts, each with one note.
