Am I the only one getting a lot of shockwave crashes?

Its been happening a lot more recently, mostly when I am on this site.

Am I infected or is there something wrong with the site?

I don’t understand. The site is basically just text. Where is the Shockwave content that’s crashing on your system?

Dear Charter Member Dewey Finn: we lesser posters  have to deal with ads, which I’m thinking are the problem.

Maybe the OP just needs to re-install Shockwave.

I got a shockwave crash a few minutes ago, actually. But I haven’t experienced one in a long time actually. The one I just had is my first one in a while.

What ads?

Some of us have Adblock (as well as Flashblock and NoScript) installed as Firefox addons.

For you Firefox users, there’s “Flashblock”. Flash sucks, it uses ungodly amounts of processor cycles. I’ve been killing it since before I signed up at this site. And most of the malware is delivered via Flash ads. Kills two birds with one stone, and you can still go see the simple secret for losing weight that was discovered by the single mom in your actual town! What’s not to love?

I dunno what I’m getting, but, occasionally, when I’m not logged in as a user, but am still in guest mode, I’ll get a long wait for a forum jump, sometimes followed by a browser notice that an application has ceased functioning, with a question about whether I’d like to close it. I’m browsing in Firefox, and I don’t know what the app is that’s freezing.

I’ve also noticed that, when I click on a post to respond to it, and get the sign-in screen – user name and password – I don’t get re-directed back to the post in question, but get a refresh of the sign-in screen again…and again…and again, until I press the “press here if browser does not redirect you” option.

Figure the hamsters are getting fussy or something…

Shockwave is still a thing? Huh.

Same thing happens when I am logged in as a member. I’ll be at the main menu level, and click to go to the IMHO forum…and there is a VERY long wait. But if I press the same button again, sometimes it speeds things up and I go right there.

I figure some background app is running slow… Ah, well, price of doing business in the information age!

I use google chrome. Anything for that or should I be using firefox?
