Am I the only one who has no idea of the sex of other dopers?

Well, thought I’d pop in and give those with a bad average a cheap way to improve it.

Go ahead - guess!

Susan’s just trying to throw us. I’m gonna guess hermaphrodite.

And mine is fairly neutral, although I didn’t intentionally choose it. I’m betting that from the context of this message, you can guess.

And I was sure Dung Beetle was a male too.

Well, I posted this in the “Your Gender is important to me” MPSIMS thread today (cited above by Tusculan), and I’m going to post it here because–basically because I am pleased with it.

Ahem.

Sung to the tune of “My Country 'Tis of Thee” (or “God Save the Queen,” whichever you prefer):

No dangly bits on me,
No dangly bits on me,
None hanging down.
Yes, I have two full breasts
Protruding from my chest.
Sometimes I wear a dress,
And I am curvy-round.

A couple of kids, a couple of decades, you’ll have to re-write the first two lines.

No, the first three.

And probably the fifth.

I’m confused - should I be posting here or to the other thread? Both have been active lately.

Straight male here. My username gives it away if you understand its deep subtle meaning. Even if it isn’t capitalized. Not sure there’s any such thing as a neutral username though, for me at least if it’s something mundane (or totally off the wall wierd) I usually think male and if it sounds exotic and/or has lots of vowels it sounds feminine. But when in doubt we should have a Gender Neutral Pronoun, Gneup.

I’d say Atrael is male. How’s my powers of deduction - did I hit the mark?

The Kid got this one right.

I’ve been surprised by many usernames; I usually assume a poster is male unless there are specific clues in the posts or the name itself.

But that’s just lazy thinking.

You’re male???

:o

Wow, was I wrong.

I am a male. But despite popular belief, I am not a huge, hairy, spiked leather collar wearing male.

Everyone always thinks I’m a guy.

I don’t know what other people are and I never ask. I usually use a basic generalization based on their names and sometimes what they say. I am by the way, a girl- woman whatever.

                      Thanks, bye.

Everyone always thinks I’m a guy. Maybe the beard has something to do with it.

And I ain’t Chinese. That, too, should be a clue.

There IS a doper sex list. You’re not on it because you don’t fit into any of the 3 categories (Male, Female, and We find out when the x-rays come back)

Uh, as I mentioned in the other thread…

Me girl.

Me date boy.

That is all.

I purposely try to keep my gender a mystery in most of my posts, though if you read enough of them you’ll find out soon enough.

As for my gender…eh, I’ve forgotten, and it’s too dark in here to check visually.

I always thought my username makes it clear. I may be wrong. But most people guess right round here.

I’m bi, FWIW, so it doesn’t matter either way. The only person who ever hits on me is Q.E.D.!

Got burned by wring. Was certain wring was male. She isn’t.

After that, I try to keep my assumptions (age, gender, sexual orientation, politics, income, religion, marital status, number of children, nationality, profession, race or hair color or the all important “what is your cup size”) down to a minimum until they are revealed - then the information my stick, or I may completely forget. When the information is pertinent to the conversation, it tends to be revealed.

Is gender really any more important than age? Or politics?

(myself - 37, female, straight (mostly), liberal (on the non-loopy end), well off, UU, Married, 2, American, System Analyst, white, and brunette (but I highlight red), and finally, its out here, but you’ll need to search it up yourself if you are that darn interested).
