Boy, haven’t thought about ‘Get a life’ in quite a while. Alas, it’s less in a fond sense and more a ‘I-can’t-believe-I-watched-it’ sense (Initially lured by Chris’s appearances on David Letterman, particularly the ‘Guy under the Seats’ [or whatever his exact title was]).
Anyway, like any obscure show (e.g. Space 1999, Salvage 1, UFO, Parker Lewis…),
there’s a site containing episode scripts (and, what’s scary, I remember some of that dialog) http://www.nyx.net/~dnadams/gal.html
A-Team? Heck, I thought this was a “Manimal” thread.
On a slightly related note to the OP, Prince Paul (producer for De La Soul) and Dan “The Automator” Nakamura recently put out a album called “Handsome Boy Modelling School”, named after the episode of G.A.L. where Chris Eliot joins a male modelling school and starts calling himself “Sparkles” until they want him to do a photo shoot topless. The album incorporates several samples from that episode into songs.
Yes, I really liked Get a Life, but I guess I’m the only one who likes Bob and Ray even more. I’ve quite a collection of their tapes, even though I’m much younger than most of their fans (well, now his fan, since Ray died about eight (8) years ago).
“Get a Life” was great. I really wish someone would devote a whole website to failed fox sitcoms, because I can’t remember the name of that show about the funeral home. It came on about the same time as Get a Life, and had a really cool theme song. Anyone else remember it?
I like Chris Elliot too. I even like Cabin Boy, because it’s most definitely a Chris Elliot movie. And I liked his role in Something About Mary as the extremely creepy Woogy.
But my favourite show from 10 years ago was Probe.
I must say, I am somewhat shocked that so many people know of and liked this show.
I think my favorite episode (and, coincidentally, the only one I can remember most of) is the one where Chris and the Ed Asner guy mutate. Chris gains an extra mouth, and Ed gets good at oragami. Chris also becomes a spelling champ, for some reason, and realizes that the word “pants” doesn’t, indeed, have a silent “k” in it. They drink some sort of coffee or something while away from the house on tour to retain their abilities.

We are the children of the Eighties. We are not the first “lost generation” nor today’s lost generation; in fact, we think we know just where we stand - or are discovering it as we speak.
Thunder Alley, oddly, connects us to Sixth Sense, by way of Haley Joel Osmet. Which brings us to Die Hard, by way of Bruce Willis. I don’t know why I just did that.

Another “Get a Life” fan here. And I liked Probe too. More recently (last year I think)
“Lateline” with Al Franken. Thought it was hilarious and was very disappointed when it was cancelled.
