Am I wrong to be in love with Jennifer Lawrence?

Strictly platonic love, that is.

The only movie I’ve seen Ms. Lawrence in has been “The Hunger Games” - I haven’t seen Catching Fire yet, and I haven’t seen anything else she’s been in. But I’ve caught several clips of her on YouTube, doing interviews and such, and … her personality and persona have just captured me. She comes across as a real person, not a Hollywood product.

It’s not her looks (though she’s damn fine). There are hundreds of Hollywood starlets who look just as good, and I’ve found plenty of Russian/Ukrainian porn actresses who look even better. It’s her persona, and the way she comes across in interviews and award ceremonies. She just seems like a “real” person who isn’t being managed by publicists. From what I’ve seen, even the gossip press seems baffled by her, because she just spills everything and just says what she’s thinking.

I cracked up over this clip, where she basically blows off Jack Nicholson:

She is seriously adorable. I’d love to hang out with her; she comes across as a total hoot. I didn’t interpret that clip as her blowing off Jack Nicholson so much as bantering with him while being completely blown away and starstruck by the fact that she was talking to Jack Nicholson!

I’m sorry, are we looking at the same clip? She does the complete opposite of blowing off Jack. She’s so totally overwhelmed by his mere presence that she completely loses her composure for a few minutes. The “rude” comment was sarcasm dialed up to 11. She was flipping out because she’s never met him.

Yes, I was being a bit sarcastic too. I just thought it was hilarious that her first words to him were, “You’re being rude”. Funny thing for a relative Hollywood “noob” to say to somebody like Jack.

To me it sounded like he was apologizing for bring rude and interrupting. She then responds with “yeah, you’re being rude” with a heavy dose of sarcasm, because obviously she’s beside herself he interrupted.

You love her because she’s a cool girl. She’s funny, chill and just one of the guys, but looks like a supermodel.

I wouldn’t say she’s any more or less PR managed than any other movie star, but she’s every movie studio PR department’s wet dream.

I don’t know if I’m in love with her, but I am seriously in awe of how good an actress she is. I mean, have you seen American Hustle? Christian Bale, Any Adams, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper… and she just walks away with the movie. Every scene she’s in is the best in the film.

If any actress has the potential to be the “next Meryl Streep”, it’s her.
