I felt sorry for the Goats; but hey, they were the Lost Boys all the way through, and they went out the same way. I was hoping the same thing you were, Skammer, but no such luck.
Of course, in my alternate universe, the Clowns are still the winners…
jsc – yup, Team Guido was still in Alaska (I think a full 24 hours behind) when the straight guys and Marguerite and whatshisface were headed for Flushing.
The consensus is that that’s why there’s so much bunching in the race since then – early-morning arrivals at places that don’t open till 9 AM, and the like – to prevent any team from opening up that kind of lead.
Of course, the producers didn’t allow for the Goats’ determination to leap without looking…
Last night – I did have to join Jon in some merry gales of laughter when Chip went off the road.

I like K&J because I think they are the most honest team and the team having the most fun. Kelly at the begininng admitting she thought they were too stupid to have made as far as they had was funny. Ironically, they were smart enough to figure out the stadium clue.
In defense of bunch-up points – the producers don’t know for sure that a leg is going to start at 1:48 AM, and that the first checkpoint doesn’t open until 6:00. For all they know, the contestants could have arrived at the previous pit stop late enough that there would be no delay. Not likely, but possible…
Note that there was one episode that had no airports or plane flights (Borneo), and it seemed to be everyone’s pick as the most exciting episode of the race.
