Amazon & Gift Cards

I want to order something on Amazon, but I do not want to use a gift card at this time. Yet, when I place my order, there appears a $25 credit claiming to be a gift card…before I’ve entered any code. So, I figure I’m all right as long as I don’t eneter any code…but DAMN! I place the order, and sure enough they applied some $25 credit from somewhere.

Anyone know why this is and how to stop it?

Have you tried contacting Amazon? I’ve had to contact them twice and both times (one as recent as last month) I got a quick and complete response from a real person.
