AMC--American Movie Classics my ass!!!!!

What the hell happened to this channel??!!!

I turned it on yesterday and Death Race 2000, one of the Top 5 All-Time Worst Movies EVER!!! was on, and it was followed by Halloween 4 and Halloween 5. That’s 3 spots in the Top 5!!!

What happened?

Where did Nick Clooney go?

This is almost exactly like what happened to TNN, which went from being The Nashville Network to being The National Network overnight.

That’s fine, but at least give us some warning.

How long has it been since you watched AMC?

You even have a similar reaction to the last time this came up seven months ago:

American Movie Classics, MY ASS!!!

Dude, where ya been? People have been bitching about this shit for months (if not a year or more)! (That being said, Death Race 2000 is a cool film, but AMC’s new programming does suck.)

Look, any of Stallone’s earlier films are by definition American Movie Classics.

(Please ignore the fact that I have Death Race 2000 in my dvd collection, sorted alphabetically right next to Deathsport 3000…)

Wow, that’s kind of spooky.

We have digital cable but do we get Turner Classic Movies? Oh no, can’t be done.

At least they do Absolutely Audrey marathons, so it’s not that bad.

But for crying out loud, RoboCop 2 is NOT AN AMERICAN MOVIE CLASSIC!!!

You and me both :D. Death Race 2000 rules ( however more for the presense of Roberta Collins, aka Mathilda the Hun, for whom I have nourished a mild crush since my youth, and David Carradine who is wayyyyy cooler than Stallone in my book ).

But I agree it’s not the sort of thing you expect from AMC.

You lost me when you didn’t consider Death Race 2000 to be a classic.

Where’s he/she been? Not here; he/she registered last month. :stuck_out_tongue:

I knew there was a problem when they aired Godzilla. The B&W version with “Perry Mason” edited in.

Hmm. AMC showing a Japanese movie (classic though it may be) with the only American aspect of it being an actor who got spliced in for domestic release…

That just aint right.
