AMD 2400+ processor with AN19E motherboard

:dubious: does anyone know if the AMD Athlon XP 2400+ processor will be compatible with the AN19E motherboard mad by FIC? i hope it does, b/c i’ve already bought the parts, but i’m making sure so i can send it back if i need to instead of frying them and my wallet. any idea?

Asked my F/E here onsite…recommends asking FIC on theri website…they’re a big enough outfit to be able to provide a quick answer

you can probably find out by going to their bios downloads page for your particular board.

Most bioses describe what cpu they upgrade the motherboard to support as new cpus are released

Is the motherboard socket A? If it is, you just need to determine if it can handle the speed of the cpu.

the manual for the thing says it can handle from 1400+ to 2000+, but the bio page on fica.com says it supports “AMD® Athlon XP® (Socket 462) Processors 1500+ - 2200+ and up*” and the star means: “* supported but not warrantied by FIC”. or maybe they meant to put 2 stars, which means “not yet tested”. i hope they only meant one star. would any of you recommend trying it out?

That board should support the 333 fsb 3200+'s…here’s the fic descriptionm http://www.fic.com.tw/product/motherboard/1stmainboard_detail.aspx?type=legacy&model_id=48 .

I would say you are just fine.
