They could be scrambling the jets as we speak. Let’s just hope that the whole thing is over easy or we will be in a pickle.
And they’re eggs, so you can do a lot of experiments for a dollar.
Eggs are about $2.20 - $2.60 a dozen here in $CDN, depending upon size, etc… That’s about $1.75 to $2.00 in USD.
What do the rest of you pay for eggs? Just curious.
In Germany, eggs are typically sold in 6 or 10 packs (not per dozens). Often, you can chose fewer eggs if wanted. Typical supermarkets also sell single eggs if you want.
For 6 eggs, you pay between 1.40 EUR (for standard barn eggs) and ca. 2.80 EUR (for organic eggs). That is between US-$ 1.6 and 3.20 for 6 eggs.
The ones in lidl here are around £1 a dozen for normal eggs (so about $1.30) or about £1.70 ($2.10) for free-range eggs (where they are raised outdoors and allowed to scratch and forage)
My supermarket sells a bewildering variety of eggs. The cheapest store brand eggs are $1.30/dozen, and the most expensive free range organic eggs are $5.80/dozen. I usually pay between $2.50 and $4.50/dozen, depending on whether I get the ones that claim the chickens have enough space to wander around or the ones where they claim the chickens actually live in pasture, and can peck grass and insects. The latter taste a little better, but I don’t always care.
Sure, I could do that. But I generally don’t like my eggs cooked that way.
What is the price of eggs in China?
It was $0.99 for a dozen large last I bought them. I usually expect them to be anywhere from 79 cents to a buck twenty-nine a dozen here in Chicago.
The part in blue is about right for a dozen large eggs in the local groceries when they’re not on sale. Around $1.19/dozen large is easy to find at any given time in at least one local grocery. ~$1.49-1.69/18 eggs is also not an uncommon sale price (once or twice a month).
Two weeks ago, one of the local stores sunk down to $0.79/dozen large eggs for a two-day sale. Perhaps in advance of the July 4th cookouts.
