A friend on Livejournal recently posted a link to “America We Stand as One”. Basically, this is the cheesiest music video ever made - and it’s not even from the '80s! It has sky fairies, people marching out of clouds and lots and lots of big '80s hair. This has to be a parody, right? Except I’m not so sure. It seems quite sincere, and I have a bit of affection for it as a piece of no-budget flag waving.
So the question: is it real or a spoof?
Sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search on “America stand” but found nothing on the first several pages that related to this video.
The web page shows the guy’s name is Dennis Madalone and he has some stunt-double and extra-actor credits to his name. So basically this is what happens when stuntmen decide they’re directors. I think this is also the latest attempt to cash in on the patriotism craze by making the next pop national anthem a-la- Lee Greenwood’s “Proud To Be An American.”
Maybe it’s a pep rally video from a political campaign or convention? You could drop that video in the middle of the Republican National Convention and nobody would bat an eye, IMO.
The website mentions (inevitable, considering how bad this glurge is) parody versions. I found one with “America, F*$c Yeah!” on top of the edited video to get some near lip-synch moments. Are there others?
