American Dreams 9/26

I know I’m not the only Doper watching this great show – it was fun to settle in with my needlepoint last night and watch the season premiere. Good episode! Lots of content!

Patty, who I’ve always kind of related to (she’s closest to the age I was during the time period in question, and let’s face it, I was definitely one of the “smart” kids, not one of the “perky, pretty, popular” kids), is turning into a first-class brat. I did like, though, how after torturing Will on the whole prayer thing, she went and talked to the priest and then brought it up at dinner.

One question – who was the singer who was doing the songs they couldn’t get the originals of in the club? He was really good. The website has the info for next week’s episode, but I’m not seeing it for last night.

I want to know- how did JJ get out of the hairy situation in Vietnam? His whole squad died except for him.

I like Patty less and less. She should have gone to her parents with Will’s guilt over the prayer thing instead of dropping little zingers at the dinner table.

Meg looks much older than in last season. Love the tension building between Henry and Sam. I can definitely see both sides of their views on how a black man should behave. Mr. Prior is a definite jerk- he put money away so his boys could go to college, Patty is destined for a scholarship, so Meg- you’re on your own!

The miniskirt rebellion was great- let’s hope they keep up the good work.
