You know what else bugs me about Constantine? Yes, the mugging and smarminess. But…he looks dirty, unbathed. He also has an odd femininity to his face that makes me uneasy. And man did he ever not hit a single right note in “Hard to Handle.”
Another Bo Bice fan here and another fan of that song. I did miss that guitar riff the original has that sort of echos “Oh, Lord I feel like I’m dying”, but that’s not his fault. He ROCKED! I love to look at Travis. He’s a hottie and a good performer too. My husband liked Scott Savol’s voice, but I just didn’t hear it last night.
The only person who really impressed me last night was Nikko.
I’m still rooting for Anwar, Anthony, Bo, Scott and duck Constantine in the final 6, but I think I may have just replaced Mario with Nikko as lucky numbah six!
I love that someone likened Anwars voice to caramel or soft leather… I 100% agree. Plus, there’s just something about his smile that makes me feel warm and comfortable. I hope he hangs out for awhile. I also hope that he and Nadia hook up and have the most beautiful child in the whole world.
I don’t think Travis is that hot (from the neck up). He kinda looks like The Joker. I won’t really miss him.
Count me as part of the “I love Bo” and “I love Anwar” bandwagons. They’re my two very favorites for all the reasons everyone’s already mentioned. If I had to choose between either of them…
I’d put Mario and Nikko on the second tier. They’re both solid, they both know what they’re doing, but for some reason they both scream “Boy Band” to me [sub] not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s already a much-overloaded category.[/sub]
Travis pleasantly surprised me. If he can maintain the better-and-better consistency, he’s got an excellent shot at being in the finals.
Anthony? He’s very good, but not great. He sang decently, but I didn’t think it was anything spectacular.
Poor Joe. He had “Lounge Lizard” written all over him. Good performance, but that’s all.
David? Forgettable. I can’t even remember what he sang.
I’m not a Scott fan. He’s got the voice, certainly, but there’s something about him that erks me, and it wasn’t the sunglasses.
I’m “meh” about Constantine. His smirking attitude doesn’t bother me as much as his vocals. Sweetie, you’ve got a trained voice, please learn to maintain it and not go scrrechingly flat at the end of almost every single line.
BTW, I have yet to watch the girls, thanks to the insanely early hour I have to be at work on Wednesdays
Aloha does nothing for me.
Bah…I’m hating these song choices. Did everybody decide they have to do country to compete with Farm Girl?
Are we going to see all the guys trying to do southern rock next week?
All three have sucked, I think. Also, is the mix off? I could barely hear Aloha or Lindsey.
What was Jessica singing that is supposedly familiar to everyone?
Mikalah knocked it out.
Boo, I turned on the TV at 7:05 and I guess I missed Aloha. What’d she sing?
I like that Mikalah dialed it down tonight. I think she’s very likeable when she’s just herself and isn’t trying to do “Funny Girl” act.
Celina does nothing for me.
Celena reminds me of all the moms in my town who wear the velour designer track suits and drive their Lexus SUVs to their pedicure appointments and try to be their kids’ friends instead of a parent . Kind of like the Amy Poehler “cool mom” from Mean Girls.
I wish they had MTV-style text with the name of the song and who else does it.
Props to Nadia for trying a Paul McCartney song but I just don’t think it worked that well for her.
What was Mikalah singing?
Nadia was terrible. The judges are dishonest – they protect the singers they like by hyping mediocre or bad performances. In this case, they simply covered for Nadia. If another girl had screwed up that badly, they would have savaged.
Bad song choice? Is the world’s most successful writer of pop songs now also writing “novelty songs?”
Whatever Mikalah was singing, I recall it is a classic of some sort. I’ve heard it sung in bars.
I’ve only recognized like two songs all night.
That’s a whole other can of worms and I’m sure you can debate that Sir Paul has indeed written some flops (“Wonderful Christmastime”). But I don’t think this song is very good for showcasing vocal prowess. It doesn’t particularly show off someone’s range, and it’s repetetive. Nadia can do way better than that.
I think so. Simon even commented on not being able to hear Amanda very well.
Speaking of, Amanda did pretty well. And, DAMN she’s hot!
I apologize for posting every 4 seconds, but was Janay’s “confessional” a disguised slam against Elizabeth Pha? “Two things I’ve learned: Sleep is not an excuse…” If so, I like her for being so snarky.
OH MY GOD, I can’t believe Janay is doing “Hit 'Em Up Style” by Blu Cantrell. I really like that song.
