I’m reminded of a recent interview with U2 in which Bono said “You’ve had your boy bands. Now you’ve got your man band. Back in town,” said with an incredibly sexy smirk. Bo is a man, no question.
I must not have a good ear for music. I didn’t watch, but I listened from the next room. I liked everything I heard except Carrie, who sounded off key and mumbly, and I could barely hear Bo over the band.
I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I sense Bo as a Doper favorite, so I’ll spend the next hour calling in his number. Was he 5?

That dress Carrie was wearing was oogly. Simon was right once again.
The best was Bo. The worse was Anwar followed closely by Constantine.
Today I wasn’t at the computer but in front of the TV (my daughter was doing homework). Usually my back is turned to the TV and I have to turn around to see it so I never noticed just how hard it is to watch Connie. Usually, when he starts winking and looking psychotically at the camera I just turn back to the computer. Holy Fahooly, how can you all watch that without averting your eyes?
Connie–nothing special.
Carrie–she leaves me cold and I HATE how they’re pimping her. She hit some high notes but overall it was blah.
Scott–he’s a tool but I thought he sounded good tonight.
Anthony–I’ve never heard this song. Better than he’s been, but still nothing special.
Vonzell–I dislike this song and I thought she was screechy in the middle. High on drama, not so great otherwise.
Anwar–he is a truly beautiful man but the voice just isn’t there. He finally seemed relaxed and this performance was much better than he’s been. He just doesn’t have the chops.
Bo–far and away the best tonight.
As far as tonight goes, Bo was way out in front, followed by Vonzell. Everyone else is bunched up behind them.
I predict the bottom three are Anwar, Scott, and Connie. I predict Anwar goes home–I hope I’m wrong, wrong, wrong.
Haven’t been able to get through on Bo’s number. Guess he’s out of the bottom 3.
Constantine - It was okay. I also noticed the eye make-up but I did not notice his zipper. Frankly, I think he’ll be safe because he still has a big fan base. I could manage not to hate him if he could stop with the cheese factor.
Carrie - Someone should have stopped her. MacArthur Park is a joke song. She could have picked any number of songs to show off her range. Yes, she can hit those notes but there is just no soul in her singing. As for her looks, yes she’s cute but she is a Barbie doll (without the equivalent chest size). Her hair and make-up are always overdone. She always looks like a deer in the headlights, it’s just hard to watch her sing and enjoy it.
Scott - No one who isn’t old enough to remember the '70’s is allowed to make fun of the 70’s. Scott was being a total jerk about it. Also his speech gets more ridiculous every week. His song was okay but I am really starting to hate him. Also he picked a song that was performed on Idol before and it was done much better than Scott’s version.
Anthony - I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this song. As Simon said it was pleasant and safe. By the way, Jaade, the third thing Simon said was insipid.
Vonzell - Good, she’s a lot better than Carrie because she can perform, but I get tired of the "c’mon"s.
Anwar - He is so pretty. He dressed nice, he danced nice and he sounds nice. No, he wasn’t perfect but I still think he was better than Scott or Anthony. Also, he did not make fun of the 70’s so that makes him better than Scott right there.
Bo - Yeah, baby! What a way to end the show.
Bottom three: Scott, Anthony, Anwar
I still think Scott should go but his luck and the idiots voting for him will probably hold out another week. I just hope there’s no upset again this week.

Well, at least when Anwar doesn’t win he’s got a possible future in “Anwar Aerobics!” videos, so that’s something.
Smirky McSmarmovitch swung and missed on the song selection this week, surprisingly. That mic stand schtick was so Bo, but the eyeliner was sorta frightening.
As an 80s hair fan, I can’t diss my girl Carrie, but oh honey, she’s so Vapid Vanna, rehearsed it all week and you still don’t get the song?
A-fed was pretty solid actually, I think I discounted him early on and have been largely ignoring him, but that was pretty a’ight.
Love Vonzell, the only person I’ve ever seen with that bouffant-pony combo that didn’t make me wince.
Scott did sing well, compared to past week’s performances, but he’s still icky.

Maybe Bo’s voters are older, and they have already gone to bed. Or maybe they text message, like I do.

I’m waiting to see the show here in CA, but I have a feeling I’ll be calling in for Bo.

I couldn’t get through for Bo till after 9:30 and then it’s like one out of 7.
And remarkably, the only consensus is that Bo, of all people, was the best performer on Disco night. This is ridiculous. The man did rock, though.
I haven’t liked Carrie up to now. And now I detest the girl! MACARTHUR PARK? Probably my least favorite song in the entire universe. And she really was awful! I don’t understand those judges fawning all over that meager performance. She should go!
I thought she was the only really bad one of the night. But I was put off by Constantine’s eye makeup. And I noticed the zipper, too. Very peculiar.

Bo is hot. Bo is damn hot.
Carrie again proves that Satan walks among us. That girl couldn’t find the beat with…a…beat finding thing. And she always looks like she’s peforming in a hostage video.
Connie, so-so performance but I respect a man who wears eye makeup. And by respect I mean laugh directly at.
Anwar. Sigh. Why aren’t you better? I was hoping he’d rock the falsetto part in the chorus but the backup singers drowned him out.
Scott. Hate.
Vonzell - I really enjoy watching her perform, she looks so happy and confident. And so pretty! I may have a little girl crush.
Bo - Hate that song but somehow he won disco night. It’s a world gone mad!
I still say Connie’s a :wally , whether he performs well or not.
And how could I forget to mention that in addition to him giving the best performance tonight, Bo is the ladies’ sex with a mic stand.
