Did they show the full audition of any girls who made it to Hollywood this week besides crazy mermaid? Bah. This one was boring as hell. Nobody I was really excited about, though Sick Mom and Wicked were cutie-patooties.

I honestly don’t understand the deal with Crazy Mermaid. The judges told her they let her through because of her “vibe” but not her vocals. IMO, her “vibe” was what was wrong with her (she’s clearly bonkers), and the vocals would be the only possible reason to say yes. It’s obvious that putting through people to Hollywood is mostly arbitrary. At this point I’m eager to get going with Hollywood - I want to see these people get filtered out.

Everyone bags on last season but I thought they ended up with a great batch of semifinalists. So far, I don’t have high hopes for this year.

I HATED that first gal for her laughter even more than for her caterwauling.

I’m pretty sure I saw the Plaid Coat Guy in Quest for Fire…except that back then, he wasn’t wearing plaid.

Wicked boy has the hair that David Cook wishes he had. Just sayin’. Love me some David Cook, mind you, but… he needs Wicked boy’s hair.

That was a snoozer of a show. No one to get especially excited about, no one to really root against. (Although mermaid chicky rated a few raised eyebrows around here.) I liked Wicked boy best, but why would he sing Bohemian Rhapsody when that’s clearly Michael Johns’ song?

Last night was all Obama all night at my house. I couldn’t get near enough to the TV to change the channel. And the boys at home teased me mercilessly about how I was what was wrong with America what with my American Idol watching when this country is in such a crisis and the Prezdint is being Serious Business.

So I watched a bunch of Inagural Balls. Can’t say I was too disappointed, really. Would have liked to have seen this Mermaid person, though. And Pauler acting stoned. I didn’t miss a walrus clap, did I?

So, this girl already has a Wikipedia page and appeared on the Legally Blonde soundtrack? She seems like she already “made it” as far as she will.

So I was away last week, and I forgot about the show yesterday.

I’ve now seen 15 minutes of AI 2009, and it’s just like AI 2008. Complete with “Good lookin out”. Guess I haven’t missed much.

New judge, Kara something. She writes songs for the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff. Basically, she’s part of the problem.

And I DEFINITELY want to see more of the railroad worker who they showed singing two lines of “Change is Gonna Come.” That was damned good.

I thought Leneshe Young was pretty good tonight. I want to hear the dueling piano guy play piano. And that’s about all that stuck out tonight.

Kara has good make-up. Can you imagine the pressure of having to dress to sit next to Paula? I’d be in a perpetual wardrobe crisis. You’d never know what sort of craziness she’ll be wearing.
