I like Mary J. but It pissed me off when she was keeping Elise from using her own style.
I wonder if somebody off-camera, said something, because afterwards, she was all about letting them use their own style.

Elise looked pretty pissed about the whole experience. She’s actually my favorite of the female voices, so I’m displeased with the way she was treated. Hopefully next week’s genre will be more aligned with what she can do.
The correct decision was definitely made last night, but really, I think the wrong decision was made to put him in the top 13 to begin with. J-Lo is too soft-hearted sometimes. Jeremy had no chance of winning (unlike Deandre, who was also saved but who is incredibly commercial and at least somewhat vocally interesting). He could have the world’s best voice, but he doesn’t have the look of an Idol. I would have put Reed in his place–his voice isn’t as pure, but he’s interesting, good looking, and has star quality that Jeremy does not.
Maybe not quite so many fucks, but yeah. And eat a cheeseburger or something.
I would agree, if Reed had attempted to simply sing when he was up for elimination, instead of scatting for his life.
Reed is a lounge singer born 40 years too late.
Maybe I have seen too many of these shows - all of the American Idols, now The Voice and also America’s Got Talent - but this year I am not wowed by a single person on AI.
Some of them are adequate - but there has not been a single singer/song that made me go “wow”. So far, this season has a been a better-than-average night out at the karaoke bar.
Hmm. At my house, we’ve been referring to her as “Head Wound.” (Apparently I miss DtC’s nicknames.) However, I think she’s my favorite so far. The other girls, except maybe Shannon, all see pretty competent.
I like Colton, although I seem to be alone in that around here. DeAndre and Jermaine make me want to run screaming from the room, though. Phil makes me kind of worry about his health when he sings - I’m afraid he’s going to burst something. On the other hand, that was by far my favorite of the many versions of Superstitious that I’ve heard on Idol.
I’m definitely looking forward to a new theme.
Am I the only one who can’t hear words when Joshua is singing? Even if I know the song, I can’t hear the lyrics.
