Well the rumour mills are grinding.
They say that:
Kris Allen will be singing “Apologize” by One Republic.
Adam Lambert will be singing “One” by U2.
Danny Gokey will be singing “Dance Little Sister” by Terence Trent D’Arby.
If Danny can pull it off successfully, he deserves to win. :o
If Adam can inject energy into [yawn]‘One’, he deserves to win.:o
If Kris can get himself noticed among these too, he deserves honorable mention.
Kris already deserves honourable mention (I think actually, coming in third place would technically be honourable mention, wouldn’t it?). I think Kris actually has a chance - there are many people who won’t vote for Danny, and many who won’t vote for Adam, and Kris will get all of their votes.
That assumes they’re voting at all.
Two versions of Adam’s song choice text from Simon have been released. The other is “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak.
I recall when this season started, I read a quote from the judges saying a male would win this year. They’re right, though thats still a 50/50 guess. People will have to assume no one is safe and vote. I am, but not sure who I’m voting for yet (not Danny thats all I know)
Oh I hope Adam has to do “Wicked Game” over “One”. I love Adam and hate U2 with a passion. I hope Kris does really well so stupid Danny can just go on home with his self-impressed self.
I heard Jamie Foxx being interviewed after he did Idol, and when he was asked who was the best on the show, he said he thought Kris Allen was the cream of the crop. He also said, “that cat’s gonna have a significant, significant career.” He also said that Adam Lambert was awesome.
Nothing about Gokey.
Also, apparently there was a leak of song download data from iTunes, and Kris Allen was beating everyone else.
So I wouldn’t count him out. My guess is that Kris winds up in the finals with Adam. I still think Adam will win, but a lot is going to depend on their next performances.

I still think he’s the best musician left on that show. Adam’s a better performer on stage, but I’d much rather listen to Kris.
Totally agree. I wouldn’t buy an album of Adam or Danny, but I’d look into Kris’. Somebody posted a studio version of him doing “Falling Slowly,” and it was awesome. I’d go see Kris in a small venue, too (not a large one - he really doesn’t seem great on stage). I just want to hear him sing and play.
I suspect that featherlou may be right.
I’m still predicting a Melinda-like twist with Adam going home tomorrow, and a Danny/Kris finale.
That would be…strange. Watching them do their duet last week, it looked like they didn’t actually like each other very much.
Along those lines- Kris seems to be the Jordan Sparks of this season. Other contestants get all the buzz, and he just bops along under the radar, yet somehow ends up on top.

Gokey’s first song was pretty ordinary. He was exactly the same as he always is.
Why does the mere sight of Gokey on the same stage that David Cook sang on make me physically ill?
Simon is right. There are much better songs on that album than “Dance Little Sister”. I would like to have heard “If You Let Me Stay” or (as Simon said) “Sign Your Name”. As much of an ass as Terrence Trent D’Arby was at the time, that was a great album and he had a great voice! It’s too bad his ego destroyed his career.
Gokey’s dancing gives me douchechills.
