For what it’s worth, I was pulling for Kelly too.
My brother watches this drivel (and I am embarrassed for the family). However, he did say something that hit the nail on the head with Justin’s hair. When I asked him what the funky-hair guy’s name was, he said “You mean Sideshow Bob?”
Cracked me up. (of course, you’d have to watch the Simpson’s to get the reference.
Ah but Sideshow Bob had wit, class and could sing.
Not that I’m Justin’s biggest fan, but I would really like one American Idol thread to pass that doesnt include someone comparing him to Sideshow Bob, like it’s something new.

Hurray for Kelly! But really, what an awful show. I can’t believe I watched it for two hours! I’m such a geek.
And I can’t imagine going to see them on tour! They’re coming to the Worcester Centrum, which is literally 5 minutes from my house, and I will not be going. It was like watching your high school show choir with slightly better singers, but worse choreography. I think it’s a waste of Tamyra, Justin, and Kelly’s time to have to tour with this group. They should be in recording studios captializing on their 15 minutes.

I’m very glad Kelly won. She may “belt” a lot as someone said but she’s got soul and that little bit of blues that she seems to add to every song she sings only enhances it. If you listen to the song without looking at who’s singing it you can really tell if they will make it with their voice alone, and Kelly does. They just released the recorded version of “Before Your Love” on aol. Yeah, the song is cheesy, but hopefully the CD will be better.
Now all we have to do is wait for American Idol 2!

(I’m just pissed because I bet my wife that Justin would win and he didn’t. Now I have to do the #*$%! dishes for a week :mad:).
My hope is that this becomes the greatest VH1 Behind the Music special of all time.

I mean they had it pretty well rehearsed so I wonder if that is what they are going on tour with.
Sorry, Wrong Girl. I never watched the show and had a phone conversation with my brother last night. So to me, the reference was new. I never claimed he made it up. Also, please realize that people that read one thread don’t necessarily read them all. Do you do a search every day on “American Idol” and make sure you read them all? Good for you. Do you think everyone does?

I’m listening to the single as we uh… type. Not exactly my type of music, but Kelly sounds pretty good.
I personally would rather see her turn up in musicals then some cookie-cutter-pop-treacle-fest that her album is sure to be. Ah well.

Sorry, Max–I realize you didn’t know that every single wannabe comedian and his dog have done the Sideshow Bob thing to death. There was even a thread here called “Am I the only one who thinks Justin looks like Sideshow Bob?” If you’ve been following this show from the beginning, which I have, it’s really awful.
Eh. But I can’t legislate what ideas pop up in people’s heads, I guess–perhaps Justin should take out an ad campaign. I’m thinking something along the lines of “Yes, I KNOW I look like Sideshow Bob.”
And you bet I’m ordering the DVD.
