I didn’t like any of the songs that much - except Respect by Kelly.

A two hour finale? Lord, that sounds…long. Maybe I’ll just tune in for the last 10 minutes. Who am I kidding? I’m a dork and will watch.

Damn, I must be turning into a dork too. I finally had to watch the show to see what the big deal was. Kelly is miles above Justin in vocal talent. Justin appears to be much more marketable to the nsync boy band crowd.
Kelly will win, they’ll both get contracts, in a year all will forget.

And may I just say what the HELL was THAT!!! (re: the Pop Stars winner from the UK’s performance last night.) Davy Jones, Jr.??? WTF?
Man, no wonder Simple Simon is constantly praising the talent here. If that was their winner, I sure as hell would hate to see their opening audition casting calls! :o

And…um…anyone else notice that he had a bit of a lisp? I thought I was imagining things but he was singing a song with the words “sweetest thing” and he sounded like…well, Sylvester the pussy cat.

Those songs were awful. Awful, awful, awful. I love Kelly, and hope she wins, but I really hope that her first album features better songs than the dreck she and Justin sang tonight.
ha! Tiburon, I thought so too, he had a major lisp! You could even hear when he sang! (for some reason I thought lisp would disapear in singing like accents do!).
I thought the show was aweful and I am getting so sick of them already!
Kelly deserves to win. I hope the show business won’t eat her alive and “change” her, she seems to be such a down to earth sweet girl.
Those songs were charity singles, nothing more, nothing less. I nearly vomited when I heard the lyric “the greatest love of all.” And I loved the “Deep Thoughts” backgrounds scrolling behind them as they sang. My favorite parts are the bitterness shots they do of the eliminated contestants, like AJ and Jim sitting in the audience.
Kelly deserves it. Justin’s voice sounded thin and strained, and although he works the camera and the audience better than Kelly he sounds like he doesn’t know the songs at all. Let’s hope if Kelly wins she doesn’t turn out to be like Christina Aguilera. She was sweet in the beginning, too.
Kelly by a landslide. Justin was weak last night, though I’ve never thought he was particularly strong anyway.

I voted for the first time last night. I don’t want to feel guilty if Justin wins.

The guy from the UK sounded so nasal! UK folks out there - was he truly the best one in the Pop Idol competition? Did people really love him? Maybe he had a bad night.

Kelly has the talent, the looks, and the fans. So I guess that must mean Justin will win.
American Idol, my secret shame. I think Kelly should win but I think that Justin will win. Why, because the majority of the voters seem to be pre-teen and teenage girls and those demographics would seem to favor him. I really hope I am wrong and if one of you kind dopers can find something saying that the demographics have changed from the beginning of the show, I will be quite happy.
Good, someone else heard the lisp as well. I thought I was imagining things. My wife said she heard something but wasn’t sure what it was.
Brujo, I was under the impression that most of the young girls would be Justin fans but now I don’t think that is necessarily the case. Most of the people screaming about Brittany Spears are young girls. I think that up to a point, young girls are going to vote for people they want to be like - Kelly. I think then it switches over to people they find attractive. I think a lot of them are still voting for Kelly. I watched the Today Show this morning and they said something about how most of the people they interviewed (who were going to the show - mostly young girls) liked Kelly. We’ll see!

Kelly has a much better voice but she needs to learn how to not just belt it out. For some reason, I find her boring as hell–a glass of milk, next to a loaf of white bread, behind a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Justin is not as talented but has a much stronger stage presence. And, for my money, Tamyra is more talented than Kelly and Justin put together. This two hour show is a trainwreck.
