just didn’t want you to be talking to yourself…too much.
Ha! Did you see it? Connie mouthing 7 over and over behind Seacrest, then nodding his head up and down? LOL- A career in comedy, for sure.
It wasn’t just that Jessica’s arrangement was too fast, remember they did a clubby dance remix of Total Eclipse not too long ago so it works fast, it’s that the arrangement was choppy. I listened closely tonight and yep, like I thought I heard last night, she totally repeated an entire line. Odd, in a sixty-second arrangement of a three and a half minute song, no?
This was kinda neat, Anthony was better, errr, less sucky than I thought last night. Mario was unintelligable in spots, dunno what that was about.
I liked Mikalickawoowoo’s answers.
For a moment I thought Paula was going to storm the stage and pimp slap Mikalah.
That’s true, but I’m under the impression they work with someone to decide exactly how much of the song they are going to sing. Which parts to leave out, etc. For its time, Total Eclipse of the Heart was quite long - more than 6 minutes.
I will see all you wonderful AI regulats tomorrow night. Remember, my prediction is Scott will be out (the teenies prefer Mikalakabingbang over him).
Reporting from Biceville,
Egg Out!
Well, I didn’t know there were going to be all new judge comments. :smack:
I taped Lost which comes on during Kindergarten Caricci’s story hour and watched that at 9 because I didn’t think there’d be anything new to see. So I tuned in at the last minute and discovered that I DID miss something.
Rats.
I’m not sure sure. I’ve only gotten through once for him.
After piling atop Constantine with everyone else here, let me say this: Sometimes people have facial expressions that naturally lean toward what observers might interpret as a smirk, a snarl, or qualities that would suggest impishness, aloofness, arrogance, stupidity, anger, etc.
The boy probably can’t help “smirking” and probably doesn’t mean to smirk. Moreover, he’s being watched by tens of millions of people. Anyone here ever give a presentation to, say, 200 people staring at you–staring at you and dissecting everything about you: talent, looks, expressions, etc? Ain’t fun. You do things that you otherwise wouldn’t and nothing quite works out like The Plan.
Now multiply that 200 by 100,000, factor in the wonders of Tivo and the vicious folks in chat rooms and message boards and the fact that if you blow it, you blow your brief, shining moment at stardom, and you begin to feel the pressure on this kid. Constance strikes me as decent enough. He, like everyone else, is trying like hell to be different, to appeal, to do anything to get more votes than the other sod. In the grand scheme of things, I find him no more objectionable than many other wannabes of Idols past.
I’ve got at most an hour’s worth of voting in me, so I’m passing time until the 2nd hour. I’ll be voting for everyone except Mikalah, whom I want off the show NOW, and Carrie, whom I can’t stand for personal reasons.
Anthony: I like him, but there are others I like much better.
** Scott**: I was a big fan earlier, but I’m getting bored. He’s had the opportunity to step up to the plate and knock our socks off, and he just hasn’t done it. However, for those who think he might be going soon, Bo and Scott have been the two contestants I consistently get busy signals for.
Bo: I’m growing more fond of him every week. I closed my eyes during tonight’s rerun performances to focus on the audio. Bo’s “Time in a Bottle” was beautiful. As someone mentioned earlier, kudos to the guitar player.
Nikko: A great performance. Absolutely professional in audio (but I do love to watch him). I don’t know why he’s not more popular.
Vonzell: Fabulous. She’s catching up with Nadia, who’s been one of my favorites.
Constantine: After the past two weeks, I hate him less than I used to.
Nadia: Not a good week. Her song choice really emphasized her limited range. Hopefully, she’ll come back strong.
Anwar: Less than stellar this week, but still my favorite.
Jessica: Doesn’t do anything for me, but she certainly deserves to stay more than Mikkimonkey.
Anyone want to play, “What’s Paula on?” Last night’s substance made her horny – she was crawling over Simon the whole show. Tonight’s substance made her squinty-eyed and a bit short-tempered (I’m guessing alcohol).
That was probably because Mario isn’t on Idol anymore.
Mikalah’s pleading was painful to watch. I hope she didn’t buy any extra sympathy votes with that. Am I crazy or did she actually get more time to ramble on than the other contestants?
No, I was thinking that as well. It did allow, however, plenty of screen time for the Paula’s paralyzing death stare. Mikalah didn’t win her over tonight.
Maybe Hung-over?
Mikalah was bad last night. Tonight she totally sucked!
D’oh!
Well, if you’re going to be all schoolyard bully about such precise details…
Ahem, I meant Nikko. :o
Yes, it was painful to watch, and I felt for the girl, how was she supposed to answer those questions? “Yes, I suck, sorry bout that!” Egads, when I was that age I’d have blushed and stammered and wouldn’t have known whether to puke or cry.
My amusement may have been colored by having just watched Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, although.
When they say the voting stops at 11, it stops at 11 on the second. I was watching my atomic clock.
Bo’s number was always busy. Scott’s was usually busy. One busy for Anwar.
Yeah, last night was the first time I’ve heard her talk, and I can see why people hate her…but I also found her hilarious. I wish I’d had that much poise at sixteen. You can see that she knows AI isn’t the be-all and end-all of existence, and when she loses, she’ll go do something else.
Her singing did sound worse on a second hearing, but I still want her to stay and entertain me.
That is, if we’re both talking about Mikalah. Suddenly I’m not so sure.
Yep, we were.
And you nailed the big AI controversy, do we want good vocalists or just entertainment? Poor John Stevens from last year, obviously outclassed by nearly every other singer in the finals, but voted on week after week. Constantine’s got just as many fans as he has detractors, but I’d argue he’s more entertaining to watch than Anthony or Nikko. Vonzell hasn’t had an off night that I can recall, she’s consistently a better singer but who’s more fun to watch?
I voted last night at about 10:45. I immediately got through for Nadia and Vonzell. I tried several times to vote for Anwar, and only got busy signals. It wasn’t Nadia’s best night, but I want to keep seeing her. She doesn’t have the best voice there, but she is a very solid entertainer — she really knows how to play a crowd.
I want someone to punch Ryan Secrest. “And next up, here’s Scotty the Body!” Yes, he’s fat, you twerp. I’m sure he never noticed, and neither did anyone else in the audience until you so cleverly brought it up. Ah, yes — fat person name calling is just the height of wit.
