I’m just back from seeing “American Made”. Man, I loved this movie. It was funny, it was interesting, it was well-done, Tom Cruise is terrific. I have very few complaints. Sure there are some liberties with the facts, but meh whatever. I go to see a movie to be entertained, not educated. And the movie was good enough that it inspired me to go and read about the real Barry Seal and get educated on him (at least at a basic level). In my view, it is well worth seeing.
For those unaware, the movie is about Barry Seal. A TWA pilot recruited by the CIA to do recon flights in Central America. He ends up, in turn, being recruited as a drug smuggler. The rest of the movie basically chronicles his life.
