The first one was decent, the second one had that “Christ, we’ve been shooting for 2 months and we still don’t have anything resembling a semi-competent plot, what the hell are we gonna do” attitude about it.
So why in Gids name make yet another sequel?
According to a bit on aintitcool.com, Alyson Hannigan, when she guested on Carson Daly’s show, said that the third flick is tentatively titled *American Wedding" * and should be coming out summer 2003. Of the original cast, Alyson, Jason Biggs, Sean William Scott and Eugene Levy will be returning. That’s it.
I know it’s **way ** too early, but I think we have a frontrunner for /Comic Book Guy/
I hope this is a joke. I will literally be embarassed if I wind up talking to someone who says they want to see this movie, or worse, if I find myself stuck talking to someone that says they liked it. Part one had a few laughs the first time around but the sequel was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Completely stereotypical sequel. Hell, the first 45 minutes was nothing but one big reference to part one.
I’ve seen the first one, parts of the second. Theres a few funny parts, but I dont get the big deal everyone makes about it. Third would be a bad idea. Why does Hollywood always have to run something into the ground? sigh
If number 3 takes in less than $70m at the box office this francise will die. If it comes in with $100M number 4 will got into production. Maybe we’ll see an aging Jim moaning about how he can no longer get it up for a meatloaf.
AP1 was very good, AP2 was acceptabe. I have no problem with a third. And how could it be the worst movie of next year - isn’t Tomb Raider 2 coming out then?
I loved both AP 1 and AP2!Call me collegiate and immature in my sense of humor, but I found both these films to be so funny as to laugh so hard I actually pulled a muscle.
I saw both of them on video. I can’t say I liked them, but I can’t say I hated them either. I enjoyed the dad (Eugene Levy) in both movies because he was such a nut, and Michelle (Hannigan). For some reason, she was just a great character. She wasn’t the hottest girl in the movies, she didn’t have the greatest lines, but I think she seemed the most realistic of the people in the movies.
That being said, I was at best indifferent to the first 2 films and really am not excited about a third.
I loved the first, thought the second was a passable sequel, but I am fearful for the first. It was a sweet movie that became reknowned for it’s gross-out humour, and the more sequels made, the more emphasised the gross-out humour will be.
My sister is having an AP marathon as we speak. And seeing as how the computer and the TV are in the same room, I have to watch this mindless dribble for the next hour.
