“Tony’s Giant Submarines” of Poughkeepsie, NY. Okay, you say, so what?
Well, they have this sign outside that says “Parking for Tony’s Giant Submarines Only”.

I recently passed a truck with the name Deathwish Piano Movers.
In Bethel, VT there is a sign for what are apparently two businesses working out of attached storefronts. It advertises Headstones (and) Yarn.
Near the Headstones and Yarn place there used to be two (I assume unrelated) businesses that shared a large sign-Phyllis’ Beauty World (and) Gas Station.
2 Favorites in my hometown.
My dentist Dr. Grimm at Grimm Dentistry
And the folks at Colonblow, Inc. http://www.colonblow.com
I think both names are sufficiently self explanatory.
In Reading I came across (next to a barbars with the red and white striped pole) the “Sweeney and Todd Bakery”. I wasn’t game enough to actually eat any of the pies from there.
For Thanksgiving, I drove up to Cooperstown where I saw a factory/company called Felchars.
Tee hee. Still makes me giggle.
I can’t believe no one from Chicago has brought up The Crafty Beaver yet! Every single time I go by that place I crack up. Sheeeeesh.
On the El yesterday I passed a beauty shop (and really, when it’s 50 years old like this one is, there’s no other term for it) in Chinatown called the BE-HIV. Now, it took me a minute to figure it out. Once I did, I ALMOST got off the train just to go have a little talk with them.
You can all throw around your cutesy, punny names for hair places, but nothing compares to the name of a haircutting place in Orlando. It is located in not too great part of town, surrounded by strip clubs and hourly rate motels (I had to drive through it on the way to work, honest). This place was named Hairgasm.
There was a laundromat near where I grew up called Suds yer Duds.
I’ve seen a laudromat with this name. Next door was a car wash (same owners?) called “Bubble yer Buggy”.
Mullinator, must have missed that one (and I have to drive through some seedy parts of town on the way to work)!
There’s a laundromat here in Salt Lake City called Swishy Washy. I do chuckle every time I pass by.
Also a couple of magazine ‘n’ tobacco stores in the downtown area called Bob Magzine And Video. Not Bob’s – Bob. And Magzine is their spelling…
