Howdy Y’all! Happy Hump Day! Since I have returned to the land of normal Amurrkin work week, Wednesday is now humpday for me again. Also, I guess this means I must now put Monday back on the calendar in swamp world. Oh well, it was fun not havin’ a Monday while it lasted.
LiLi sorry about your dad’s diagnosis, but like others have said, it is amazing what is happenin’ this day and time for people with Parkinson’s. Your dad has always been pretty active so just keep encouraging him to be as active as possible. He’ll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Cap’n sorry about your dad. Here’s hopin’ it’s not cancer. I’ll keep him in my thoughts and prayers also.
Soapy as soon as Nelly is done puttin’ Gordie in his place, maybe doggio could send her up to assist you with the snowflake.
Spaz you could summon up Agony Aunt Ryl to entertain me if you’re lookin’ for sump’n to do. Just sayin’.
I finished my taxes a week and a half ago. I’ve been havin’ an accountant do 'em but this year’s were decidedly less complicated so I did 'em myself. I may let an accountant do ‘em next year though because it did remind me how much I hate doin’ my taxes.
Salmon croquettes, baby English peas, smashed N.O.T. and biscuits for dindin tonight. YUM! I need to go get busy with it. This is one of my favorite meals.
MOOOOOOM it’s not nice to call your hubby and the kids a menagerie.
I’s stuffded! I love me some salmon patties, baby english peas, smashed N.O.T. and biscuits. I even made biscuits tonight. Warm, fluffy on the inside, golden on the outside buttermilk biscuits. MMMMMMMM…
So far, I’ve taken care of a load of laundry (which is now in the dryer), baked a batch of date-toffee scones for tomorrow’s breakfast (I’m using them to bribe The Angry Russian, because she’s giving me a ride up to the boonies), and prepped a chicken-tortilla casserole for din-din which will go into the oven as soon as the scones are done. I’ve also processed a few photos that I took over the past few weeks and had been procrastinating on, emptied the dishwasher, and done a sinkful of dishes.
My aunt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 10 years ago now, and is really quite stable. Her other health problems (major recurring kidney stones) play a much larger role in her quality of life than the Parkinson’s does. She still drives and works and does all kinds of stuff. She’s rather stiff at times, but otherwise, you’d really never know that she has it.
Does the university take outlier evaluations into account, Soapy? Even with a small class, one evaluation that’s radically different should be viewed differently. I always hated it when I could tell who a bad evaluation was from because I couldn’t talk back.
I’m out of town for work tomorrow and Friday, so I should be packing and making sure I have everything I need. Have to go in to work early tomorrow so that I can get some of the stuff done that I couldn’t finish during meetings today. How fun!
A literal midnight ambulance run, to take the HTOg fattest woman in the county to the hospital because of lung congestion. I got back to bed around 3:30, and got up at 5:15 for work.
She weighs in at about 500 lbs, and 6 people are needed to lift her in and out of the ambulance. We’ve had 4 days of rain, so her yard was a mud pit, and we nearly dumped the stretcher getting her to the truck.
She’s a very sweet lady. I tried to offer her husband the name of my gastric surgeon in case she’s interested, but he declined.
You’re making me feel bad. I spent the weekend ripping out the hand I just cross-stitched because I messed up in some unknown location so I have to start over for the second time. Here’s hoping the third time’s the charm.
I came in this morning to discover that not only are the two sub-bosses out today, but there was a pile of SES* in my cubicle. Archiving Work today will consist of fixing a mistake I discovered on Tuesday which involves going back through ten boxes of stuff to renumber folders. :smack: The diocese better donate this crap after all the work I’ve done on it.
*SES = Someone Else’s Shit
Bank of America seems to finally be getting a bit more prudent about their credit cards. I got a letter yesterday saying that they’d lowered my credit limit. From $22,000 to $11,000. Of which I’ve never used more than $1,500. What the heck would I have used $22k for? Putting a car on my credit card?? Sheesh. Even $11k is way more than I’d put on a credit card.
I’m trying to figure out how best to ask Boss (since Manager is out) if I can leave early today since I was here late on Tuesday. They’re really good about letting us take off early when we worked extra hours, but I’m still uncomfortable asking. But it’s gorgeously sunny and may reach 70 this afternoon. The great outdoors is calling me and I wanna get out of here! I think that’ll help me work up the courage to ask. Yay for nice weather!
Hoping all went well, gotti, and that you got sent home with some primo painkillers.
taxi, hope you manage to get your early quit o’clock. I’m soooo jealous. No way I’m leaving suburbia anytime before 5pm, and from there it’ll be around 1.5 to 2 hrs to get home… which means I’ll miss all the nice weather (it’s supposed to be sunny and 15C).
I’d go for a walk at lunchtime, but around here that means taking a brisk jog around the pond whilst dodging angry geese and piles of goose poo. Ah, the joys of nesting season.

Toffee-date scones were Teh Yum. I snarfed one down for dessert last night, and another one for brekkie this morning. I think the recipe still needs a little tweaking, though, or perhaps I just need an excuse to bake up a second batch.
And a morning blurf to you all. I don’t know if it’s this new med schedule or what, but I simply cannot make my eyes focus properly this morning. Probably because they just keep closing, all on their own. Makes it hard to get work done. Not that I much care; I never did take a nap yesterday, and once again I couldn’t get to sleep till way late last night, so I’m thinking today is definitely a good nap day.
Anyway, hugs, yays, and boos are appropriate. I have read all and retain none. I think I need to see if one more cuppa joe will help wake my sleepy ass up. It certainly can’t hurt!
