That sucks, Bottled Blond Jeannie. Sorry for your loss, and that disagreements over your other thread came at a time when you were dealing with a lot of difficult stuff. It’s hard enough to be gracious about differences of opinion when things are hunky dory (christ knows I have a bear of a time with that).
I hope that things look up for you soon. Of course, the loss of a pregnancy doesn’t go away, but I hope the other stresses are eased.

That thread reminded me a lot of when Suspenderzzz (zz?) made some ignorant, mean-spirited comments about married suburban homeowning parents who live in New Jersey. The difference was that she never offered a word of explanation for her jerkish behavior, while BBJ has owned up to hers and apologized.

No Aries, there aren’t time limits on posting to a thread - well there are, but that is a different story.
The thing is, is that BBJ apologized, we accepted, we offered our condolences, and everyone was well on the road to “getting over it” when you popped in with your words of wisdom. It was not only a little late, it also looked at little silly and like you hadn’t paid much attention.

While I acknowledge you accepted her apology…the statement later on about being known as a bubbleheaded bigotted bimbo was obvious a dig at her AFTER she said she was sorry. To me…that’s not getting over something.
But again…I came into this late and just though I would put my two cents in…I should have noted the time that had past and withheld my opinion since after a certain amount of time giving it appears silly.
Maybe there should be a chart somewhere giving us all a time line of when “too” much time has passed to respond to a thread one has just read???

FWIW - after lurking in your other thread, I thought you were treated rather abrasively, for using the term ‘white trash’. We use this term here too, as do Aussies and Brits. I have a friend from Maine who calls herself ‘white trash’ so it is totally up to the individual if they choose to associate the term with being a Southerner or not - we don’t.
Oh, and I thought your original OP quite amusing too.
MelC, you need to qualify the white trash statement. It’s a term I would never use, any more than I would use Hoari or Abo. Just because it’s got white in the title doesn’t mean it’s any less derogatory or distasteful if you stop and actually think about what you are saying.
BBJ, I’m sorry for your loss, it can be very hard to keep oneself functional and balanced with the hormonal changes and the stress of loss.
yeh, I know, but ‘under-educated-poorly behaved white person from a low socioeconomic group wearing ill-fitted brightly coloured clothes and make-up,’ is just too much of a mouthful. Yes, it’s stereotyping and meant to be derogatory, but by calling someone ‘white trash’, I am not assuming anything other than the above about that person.
Please don’t tell me that ‘white trash’ is the equivalent to an ethnic group and therefore a rascist term and that there are people who seriously classify themselves as ‘white trash’ and therefore find the term offensive.
