Those are like crack to me and I’m not interested in rehab. <slavers over pic>
I need to start dinner–in the freaking toaster/convection oven. I can’t get Sears to even answer the phone at Merchandise Pick-up. Grrrrr.
Unfortunately I don’t like peanut butter cookies. But I do like the name Nookie Monster.

Sometimes, SDMB is unblocked at work and sometimes it is blocked - today, apparently, was a blocking day. Gah!
MamaTigs. your mom is in my prayers, hopefully they will find out what is wrong and it will be something they can tend to easily enough. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}} for the whole Tiger family!
Rosie, hope you’re feeling less nauseous now. Have you had any problems with your balance? Inner ear infections can cause awful nausea, and sometimes Meniere’s disease (which involves the teeny tiny bones in the inner ear somehow being out-of-order) can as well. My Mom had it and so does one of her brothers–she said it made her sick to even turn over in her bed. Hope you find out what is wrong and that it heals up quickly!
I just had a snack of some sweet potato fries, from Trader Joe’s and they were YUM! They come frozen and were heated in the oven, not fried; they weren’t crispy but were soft and quite tasty. lol I didn’t look at the nutrition label on the package though.
Happy April all.
McUne, those look like crack soaked in crack sauce on a bed of crack, garnished with a crack rosette! Damn, now I want some… I can’t do peanut butter cookies because the SO is allergic but I substitute cashew butter and that’s just as good. Dammit, now I have drool all down my front!
Thanks for the good wishes all, after a really unpleasant fight we actually got to a place where rational discussion was possible and he had a couple of epiphanies regarding his anger habits. Fingers are tentatively crossed that there could be improvements to the home front.
My tooth is killing me–the pain is radiating all up my skull to my eye and my face is rather swollen. It really sucks ass.
Pratchett cat managed to pull out one of his back claws–there doesn’t seem to be any claw at all, just a hole that pains him a bit when he cleans it. Anybody know if this should go to the vet or just monitor and keep clean?
Mt. Penis, heh–talk about making mountains outta molehills!
Hugs to the Tigses, Rosie and all the sickies–hope y’all feel better soon.
BTW, for all you carnivores out there I can heartily recommend the Wendy’s Spicy Baconator. Two patties, pepper jack cheese, bacon, chipotle sauce and lots of pickled jalapenos–gaah, it’s too damned good!
Poo. Can’t pick up the oven/range until The Husband gets home–and he is not answering his phone. The delivery guy says it should fit in the back of an Explorer.
Handyman is all set up to install tomorrow. Yay.
How should I devirginify the oven? What shall I bake first? Suggestions welcome.
Tombstone garlic bread pizza is good. Who knew? It didn’t fit in the toaster/convection oven, so I cut it in half and did a double decker pizza kind of thing. It cooked just fine-tasted good, too.
I agree.
{{{Tigs Family}}} I hope everything works out.
swampy, I’m flattered! I like to think I help make advice columns less pretentious and more bearable.
Off I go to convince this blister on my toe that it really wants to go away and stop hurting. Why-o-why did I wear my good shoes today?
**Rigs ** make “Rigby’s Fucking Heavenly Cookies.”
Or would cherry pie be more appropriate?
I still need to make those btw. I have the recipe, but needed to use up those chocolate blossoms that I bought for making Christmas cookies.
That’s an idea. I’m sure I’ll bake something. I’d rather bake than cook, any day.
Spaz: Take shoe off. Keep shoe off. Keep blister clean and dry. Do not break blister! Tomorrow wear different shoes. Voila! No more blister.
I am at the Ullathorne’s party in the book. Poor Mr Arabin. Poor Mrs Bold! (I will admit the whole bit about Mrs Greenacre and Mrs Lookaloft bores me silly–I tend to skip that part. Very nice commentary on the British class system. I get it. Moving on…)
TRUST me, my darlings. If I were, we’d have to prepare for the second coming (no innuendo implied)
eta
I do feel somewhat better tho. I think it’s a just reaction to the antibotics - but between that and the hurting leg muscles from the two 5+ hour drives, I was just far too cranky to do anything.
Tomorrow’s a new day (tomorrow’s only Wednesday, right?) and I expect to be a bit more productive. I just am not looking forward to driving to Philly on Firday.
Hope you feel better soon, rosie. Lupus is teh suck (I also have lots of other bad words for lupus and other auto-immune diseases, but they’re not fit for this board).
Good thoughts going in the direction of Gramma Tigs. Hope she makes a swift recovery, Mama Tigs, and may she spend many more years driving you all crazy with her stubborn self.
Smarty Pants, one of the kittehs managed to rip a claw out back when she was wearing Softpaws and snagged one of the claw-caps on something. I was horribly alarmed when I realised what she’d done to herself, but there was no permanent damage and the claw grew back fairly quickly (obviously, we no longer use Softpaws, because I would prefer to avoid a repeat of that incident). Regular cleanings oughta do the trick… not much else a vet’s going to be able to do anyways.
Making Vermouth Meatballs and mashed N.O.T for din-din, which shall be et in front of the tube… we’re starting on Season 2 of The Wire, which is turning out to be a horribly addictive show.
Vermouth Meatballs? I am intrigued muppet.
Dang you people are chatty! Just yak it up constantly!
I got taken out to dine tonight. Ok, we went to that paragon of fine dining known as the Three Squares Diner. I had pancakes, bacon and scrambled aigs. NUM!!! Full tummy!
Feel better sick peoples!
Is everyone getting sick? My boss has been sick since Friday. Several others are just getting over the creeping crud. I’m just hoping to escape it.
Hope you feel better soon, rosie, and swampy, and Smarty, and Taters and…who am I missing? I know I’m missing someone.
And lots of hugs and good thoughts for the Tigs clan, especially Granny. Glad she’s in good medical hands. My grandma lived on her own until she was almost 93. She was in a nursing home for the last 6 months or so of her life - maybe not even that long. I’m hoping to be lucky enought to do something similar when I get up there in years.
Rickrolling can’t be over yet, I only just learned about it maybe 2 days ago! (And LOUNE, I saw that!!! Watch out, or I’ll assign you an MMP!!!
Went out after work with some people I used to work with. We all still kind of work together, but we’re in different departments. Had a nice burger and 2 beerverages.
Now I’m sleepy.
I’m sure I forgot something…I’ll be back later.
GT
Pssssst.
I have some good news.
I have only 17 hours left in my library practicum.
Can I get an AMEN!!?!
Praise Jesus, Mary and Joseph. It will be so nice to do this work and get paid for it, some day…
What’s N.O.T.? The meatballs sound interesting…
I’m waiting for supper to finish cooking, cuz I was late from work again. Busy busy week, which makes things interesting but I’m getting snappish because of the flickering lightbulbs (stupid things, maintenance tries to fix them but they are weird) which aggravate my sinus headache.
I stopped at the Bay today to see if I could find some new shoes for my interview, something classy and that would work with my blue top and grey w/ pinstripe suit. I found some really sweet blue shoes with heels I can walk in, that will hopefully go with my shirt. Going to try it all on tonight and see how it looks. If it doesn’t work the shoes will go back (I’ll take a picture of them later to share). I hope they do, I find as I get older I’m more of a shoe and purse addict than I thought I was, but I’m still a tomboy at heart.
Better go see if the salmon is done, I am starving today.
ETA randomness: Would I really want to use a USB fertility test?
The pay is the only thing keeping me from killing some of the students here. Especially the freshmen who expect me to write their papers for them even after they picked the VAGUEST TOPIC IMAGINABLE AND THEN COMPLAIN THAT THEY AREN’T ABLE TO FIND ANY SOURCES BECAUSE THEY ARE IDIOTS AND DIDN’T PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS AND ARE MOST LIKELY IMING FIFTEEN PEOPLE BESIDES THE REFERENCE DESK AND FACEBOOKING AND RICKROLLING AND
I’m sorry. I really don’t like slackasses who expect me to do their work for them.
Um, yeah. What you said. I’m planning on doing public librarianship, will no doubt deal with my share of morons (well, someone had to say it!).
N.O.T. stands for Not Our Taters–because the MMP doesn’t believe in cannabalism as a way of life. Hey, anyone can have a crazy weekend, but we try to not eat another MMPer for dinner several nights a week.
Dear god–they want us to wee on a stick and put it in our computer? <reaches for the handi-wipes> The hormonal assay thingie is pretty cool, though…
Ahh, one of those time the username and the post fit together so well!
Darn it, rigs, you went and posted in between!
sorry. <stumbles over feet, backing out of mmp> [sub]sorry…[/sub]
I feel empty but not hungry. It’s a confusing feeling. I suppose I should eat something eventually.
I also feel the overwhelming temptation to set all my student essays on fire.
I’ll bring the marshmallows
