An April Foolish MMP

{{Rigs}} No advice, just support. We’re here for you, you know that.

I talked to my sister – turns out Grandma Tigs lost so much blood yesterday she ended up needing 4 units!   That’s a whole lotta transfusion!! The bleeding appears to have stopped – taking her off her coumadin probably helped  – but they’re doing a colonoscopy tomorrow to see if they can find out what’s going on. GTigs is under the impression she’s going to go home after the colonoscopy. Uh…yeah, right, sure. TigSis is under orders to talk to the hospital folks about insurance issues before they kick her out, especially if they don’t have any answers yet and she has to go back, just to make sure she doesn’t end up getting screwed financially. Plus now that the bleeding has stopped, one of her knees is badly swollen, so they need to get someone in to check her over stem to stern. So we shall see. But I am not going to let them send her home to start bleeding again without finding out what caused it in the first place, if I have to hop on a plane and go out there and raise hell myself!!

Aargh. So another day of worrying instead of working. :frowning:

:: hugs for rigs and MamaTigs ::

I think I’m fully over my flu, barring a bit of coughing. My mom thinks it was just me crashing after being under so much stress for the past month or so. Whatever it was, it’s gone, and I feel motivated to be a bit more productive this week. The apartment looks like a bear’s been hibernating in it for the past three months. A bear with a lot of papers to grade.

Rigs, welcome to my life. Slightly recast the car problems, and you described the demise of the NerdMobile.

In other news, last night I went to a rescue squad dinner, for which I personally baked a cake. I got home from it, and went to bed. Around 10 PM, I got a call that got me out of bed from buddy Eddie, grumping loudly that he didn’t get any of my cake because he took an ambulance call.

Boo-hoo-hoo.

So, I’ve decided to be a bastard. I’m stopping on the way home to buy the applicable ingredients, and I’m going to make Eddie a cake all of his own, and hand deliver it to him. So there.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

gotti breakfast is one of my favorite suppers. Chez Three Squares, bein’ a diner and all, serves brekkie all day long. I like that. Aigs, bacon and pancakes made for a fine fine supper.

{{{rigs}}} no words of wisdom here either. Just support and a shoulder to cry on.

BioTigs go get ‘em. Make sure GrandmaTigs is thoroughly checked out before she gets out of the hospital. Here’s hopin’ things continue to improve.

Howdy everybody else. Just sneakin’ in a post. Gotta get back to da work world now. Later.

They do not want MamaTigs (or me, for that matter, though right now that’s unlikely) decending on them to raise hell, I can promise that. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Otherwise, I have nothing today, except hellos for all.

Hugs for white bunny, or pale rabbit, or white rabbit… Oh wait, crap, that’s your name. I’m hugging, okay? Your family is in my mind.

:: Hugs ::

I didn’t dream about Anthony Bourdain, but I did have that kind of a dream last night.

I didn’t get any of that cake, either. Are you gonna make me one too?

{{{{rigs & tigs}}}}

I saw Anthony Bourdain for the first time last night, and I don’t get why everyone is having hot, sweaty dreams over him. Am I missing something?

(((Rigs, Tigs & bunny)))

Maybe its his cologne. For all my bitching about people who bathe in scent, there is one that gets me every time (Old Spice). There’s someone in the search room now wearing it. gnawgnawgnaw And the guy I’ve been chatting up is also working today. gnawgnawgnaw

Is it quit o’clock yet? I’m hungry.

((((rigs))))

Nat got his first round of shots. We both survived, but he doesn’t love the doctor. He was really good and only cried a little. By the time we got him home he was all smiley for his Grandma. He’s bellowing, sdo this is drive-by (whizzes off)

I ended up in a (happy and hot) relationship with a sweet, nice guy, but man I lust after the sarcastic, hard-edged ones. He’s just sexy, man.

Sigh. (hubby really needs to return from his trip…).

Hugs to Rigs, I watched my now hubby go through his separation and divorce (we were in school together) and it’s a gut wrenching bitch, even if you know it’s the right thing.

Oh my gods, yes. There’s just something irresistible about Old Spice.

(are all the guys taking notes?)

Who is Anthony Bourdain?

Older kids are home and they like the new range. They also like the cookies I made in it. #2 son came in and said, “the oven is different” (#2 son was home when the Handyman brought the new oven into the house. Sometimes I wonder about #2 son).
I received something in the mail today so wretchedly horrid, I hesitate to share it here. Please, if any of you have nervous stomachs or have a distaste for horror, please look away.

I got a copy of this catalog: As We Change. It might as well say As We Age on it. There is a website. hereyago It even has an “intimate” section–Better Sex After 40. (any sex after 40 is ipso facto better). Click at your peril–this is your future staring you in the face. It features Hot Flash Pajamas.

I am relieved to find I’m not the only one with inexplicable lust for Anthony Bourdain. I honestly don’t know why, but I would so do him. Once. Even though he smokes, and that’s up there on my dealbreaker list along with physical abuse.

Then he could take me out for food. Or he could do that before and after. Mmmmm.

Well, hell, I can’t get caught up, so I might as well post.

Happy Humpy Mumpy Day!

My day ended with teh suck last night by having to stay 1-1/2 hours late. At least I didn’t miss Idol. And started with teh suck when I had to drive about an hour to a training session that I was mis-scheduled for. It’s for NEXT week. Dammit. So an hour there, then an hour back over here during rush hour.

But it’s been better and not too stressful today. And only one more hour to go! Yay for that. And I’ma go home and finish making chicken and dumplings. I cooked and deboned the chicken on Monday - so I’ll just go home and skim the fat off the broth, throw in some carrots and celery and torn up WHOMP (Swampy’s word, I love it!) biskits, and simmer for a while. Mmm. And those meatballs someone was talking about sound yummy too. I’m hongry!

Later - gotta go work some more. Damn slavedrivers.

Oh yeah - good luck shopping for MOTB dress, FCM And safe trip home!

Yup- smoking- deal breaker.

Anthony Bourdain- the exception

For those not in the know: http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Anthony_Bourdain

Home from work - SMDB still blocked there. :frowning: One of my brother’s has been sending packages of things from my Dad’s house and two more packages arrived today. One is a painting that I’ve admired for years (YAY!) and the other was a Peter Rabbit plate that apparently my daughter had admired for years also.

{{{{{{{Rigs}}}}}}}; I don’t have any advice either, but we’re always a shoulder to cry on.

Wonder if FCM got any shopping done for her MotB outfit?!

I have some. They’re in Merrylande. Right now, I’m in Orlando. So, yeah…

It was a successful shopping venture. I have a dress - same shade of lilac as the last one, sorta similar style - tiered skirt and sheer jacket - but it fits better and looks lots better, plus the fabric isn’t as horrid as the other one. Then my daughter insisted I needed a decent bra to wear under it, and I figured much as I hate them, I needed an underwire. So, for the first time in my life, I was measured by a salesperson and discovered (big surprise) I’ve been wearing the wrong size. But we found one in the new size that really makes a difference under the dress. What a concept. But to be fair, the bra I grabbed this morning is old and pretty well shot, so it’s not my typical foundation. Anyway, dress looks good.

I also got some shoes - plain white pumps with 1" heels, so I won’t fall off. Daughter says I need some sort of bling, since the dress is very plain, so I guess I’ll go necklace shopping with FCD. Daughter got her foundation garment ($70!!! <chokegaspwheeze>) and a necklace and earrings and shoes. So it was a good expedition.

On the way home, we stopped and got the tarp and rope, and the trailer is all ready to go. It’s thundery and someone is whining for supper. We’re going to have tilapia and rice and some sort of vegetable matter. I’ve got a load of clothes in the washer. Dunno if we’re still going to see the future inlaws’ house. But tomorrow, we should be in Ocala by lunch time. I’m pooped.

I need a foot rub. And chocolate. We do have chocolate, tho, so yay!

And now, off to the kitchen with me…
