I have a date for Firday after the game and for Sunday. and half the aprtment complex wants to go to a Canes game with me.
I had a very bad day.
I’m not really comfortable sharing what happened on a public message board, but it was a very bad day.

As part of my treatment, I have lifted the ban on hugs-for-beebs. It’s appreciated.

Well, then…more hugs. Sorry it was a bad day, beebs.
I spent a lovely evening with Local Best Friend in the friendly neighborhood ER. She was having pain that could have been appendicitis. Hubby has the creeping crud, so he got to stay home with kids. It was actually OK. I got to stay with her the whole time, so we got to chat a bit (they got her into a room in maybe 15 minutes). Then she figured out that there was a remote for the TV, so we watched How It’s Made and then a bunch of Food Channel stuff. Doctors and nurses came and went and then they took her out for a CT scan. Much of the evening was like when we were roommates. Hanging out and watching TV. Oh…and they ruled out all kinds of acute stuff. Probably muscular… We were relieved.
I’ve turned the alarm off and will be going into work when I’m good and ready. Definitely later than usual.
Off to sleepy-bye.

{{{Beebs}}} Sorry you had a bad day…if you need someone to chat with, I’m still up and willing to listen.
{{{beebs}}} If you need anything, you know where to find me.
(((((beebs)))))
I’m having a busy day trawling websites to see if three different institutions make any mention of each other on their pages . Envy me.
Up already, and caffeination is in progress. Yep, I’m getting an early start on the errands today.
{{{{{{{Beebs}}}}}}} so sorry that you had a bad day.
At least it’s Firday now.
Yay for Doggio’s dates!
beebs, I’ll send you via email a pic from last weekend that’ll make you laugh, but it’ll have to wait until Monday or Tuesday because I have to finish packing and go pick up my friend for the trip to Philly for competition. Meanwhile {{{{{beebs}}}}}
Greetings!! And in no particular order, because I’m not going back thru the thread:

Many hugs to assorted sickies, sickie relatives, and whoever else needs some.
Yes, rosie, the rickrack comment was a joke - only because the phrase “ball fringe” didn’t come to mind at the time.
swampy, I’m afraid to ask how you found those photos… <shudder> And for your snarky throw-away comment about me, you don’t deserve a new grill.
And yes, I forgot, I will be sporting a corsage, according to my daughter. The friend who is doing the bouquets is doing corsages for the mothers and boutonnieres for the male personnages. The jacket is sheer and won’t support any weight from jewelry or the flowers, but the dress is lined and more substantial. The majority seems to favor silver bling (incidentally, I do not wear earrings. Heck, I just don’t wear much jewelry anyway, so this is a challenge.) so while I was thinking a long, skinny silk scarf might be nice, I’ll consider a necklace also.
I know there were other comments, but my brain refuses to engage. It’s early, and the kid and I were up past midnight talking last night. It was pretty amazing - we covered the gamut from my dating years thru her origins and early years, thru her (thankfully brief) troublesome period to her fiance and their goals and stuff. And we talked about my folks and compared various families and honestly I can’t recall what else. It’s like we’ve made up for the 4 years she’s been living apart from me and then some. I have to say, it does make me feel better about her mindset as she approaches marriage, and I feel better about the future son-in-law also. Turns out he’s pretty much who he appears to be.
Oh yeah, regarding BIL - he hasn’t said a word to me or his brother (FCD) and I don’t know how much pressure he’s tried to put on the happy couple, but they’re firm in their choice of officiant and they won’t be bullied. So it looks to be a non-issue. Here’s hoping he’ll just be a quiet guest… (yeah, right)
Plans for today - I need to pack my personal stuff and get air in the front tire of the van. We’re going to (finally) get the centerpieces done (it won’t take long - they’re really simple) then we’ll clear the one guest room of everything, vacuum it, and put all wedding crap in there. I’m taking her out to lunch (maybe future S-I-L also) then I’m heading to Orange Park some time this afternoon. It’s a good thing I’m only driving about 3 hours today - I’m pooped - I had maybe 6 hours of sleep. It was lovely talking with her last night, but it made for a long day… <yawn> I’ll be glad when all of this is over and we’re living in Merrylande.
I need caffeine…
Mornin’ y’all.
:::vroom:::
{{{beebs}}} Hope things are lookin’ up for ya.
MOOOOOOM quit tellin’ stores to not sell me grills!
Oh and as to BIL, if he has no chance to bring it up it’ll be a non-issue. It reminds me of an aunt and uncle of mine. They’re gone now so part of me thinks it’s not nice to bring up past stuff, but what the hey. This was back in the early 70’s and a great uncle (dad’s and uncle’s uncle) died. Uncle wanted the minister of his church to perform the funeral service but the funeral was at great uncle’s church which (surprise!) had its own minister, who, naturally, would be the default minister. Short ending is, uncle, aunt (unc’s wife, duh!) and their minister sat in unc’s car and pouted all during the funeral and burial in the church cemetary, then left. I do believe (heck, I know!) dad had a little “chat” with unc at the family gathering afterwards because all of a sudden he apologized to everyone for their behavior at the church. Dad’s “chats” had a way of doin’ that to folks.
Well, wasn’t that just a special trip down memory lane!
doggio you, heh, dog you!
<makes note to never get caught alone with Swampy’s Dad>
I am off to work. This work thing seems to pay off–my paycheck (and thank the ogs that it was deposited yesterday) was very nice (for me, as paychecks go). It must be that time and half I get for staying late with the cardiac caths. More caths, please!
It’s rainy and blah here, but my daffodils are up about 7 inches and the grass is slowly greening up. I face a day with Annoying Ethnic Coworker and Other Annoying Coworker (I hate Firdays because of the double whammy), but perhaps we’ll all be good scouts today.
Have I told you all how much I love my new oven? It looks so much better than the old one and it cooks faster. It has a fan that kicks in when the preheated temp is reached to ensure it doesn’t overheat. I didn’t even know that when I bought it. Very cool.
yay for mothers and daughters sharing stuff before a wedding and not going all Bridezilla/Monster in law to be. Off to work now.
((((((((((Beebs)))))))))) You have my number if you want to talk or whatever.

COMMENCE CAPITAL LETTER ABUSE
Complicated Roommate and I were going to go to Formerly Cool Wings Place last night (which has moved from the heart of Drunk College Student Country and became Annoyingly Yuppie Wings Place.) In the process of becoming Annoyingly Yuppie it has also become Popular With Young Families and was therefore packed beyond tolerance. So we went downtown and roamed around for a bit. We saw a building had been knocked down in the Gentrified Block so we went to get a closer look. While we were standing there, I got a whiff of Indian food. We decided to go to the Indian place for dinner since neither one of us had ever been there. It was very num and kinda pricey for dinner (almost $40 plus tip for the two of us), but I’m still stuffed today. He got curry chicken and I got vegetable balls in nut sauce. :dubious::eek:
pauses for snickers to subside
I need to caffienate so I can stay up tonight. Somewhere between midnight and morning-thirty I need to grab a few hours of sleep so’s I can workify tomorrow afternoon.
{{{Beebs}}} Hope you’re feeling better today.
I’ve gotten caught up, but it was in disjointed blocks and now I can’t remember anything I wanted to say! This CRS crap is fer the birds.
Happy Firday! It’s finally here!
We had a retirement breakfast for someone today. Pretty good spread! Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, fruit, and bread pudding! Yum!
I’m gonna do my best to get out of here early today. My goal is 3:30! Cross your fingers!
rebo, have that CRS looked at before it turns into CRAFT. ![]()
{{{{{beebs}}}}}
Can I tell you how glad I am that it is Firday??? I am really, really, really, really (continue ad infinitum) glad.
I got the coolest little promo gift in the mail here at work today. It’s a mini USB Hub. Not that I have all these gizmos I need to plug into my computer…but I COULD now. ![]()
I think tonite is a sushi night. The Princess agrees.
Oh, yeah, here’s one of the things I’m planning to do in Italy. I think I had a former life in 79 A.D.
fcm, you have a good trip back! Drive careful.
Glad to hear that Gtigs and Gpie are going to be okay.

Yesterday wasn’t a complete loss. I was upset when I wrote that message on top, but there are a couple of positives:
I slept in my own bed.
I took a nice long drive at about 3AM.
I fell in love with three nurses and one waitress yesterday.
I hugged my Mom.
And I had a damn fine cheeseburger and fries at the diner that’s open until 5AM.
See, I’m much calmer now. See?

TGIF!
Up and caffeinated, at work and surprisingly hungry. Today will be a hungry day I think. Wait, I haven’t eaten my backpack bagel* yet. We’ll see after I eat it.
hugs beebs and anyone else who may need it
I like that dress Moooom, and agree with the others. Silver jewelry would look great with it (but then I’m almost partial to silver over gold myself).
It seems to be warming up not that it’s April. Still a little nippy, but yesterday got fairly nice and today is supposed to also. Maybe I’ll even see some green soon! Pondering trying to plant some flowers myself this year. We’ll see.
Oh, on the topic of house stuff… can anyone give me tips for keeping the duct part of a dryer attached to the outside hole? See, we have this foily looking thing from the back of the dryer which attaches to duct stuff that is the inside part of the outside vent. It never stays up, we have duct taped it, gorilla taped etc and it just constantly falls off. I have to fix it every month and a half it seems and I need a better solution because I’m tired of fixing it, and I really scraped my knuckles on the concrete wall last night which is irritating me today.
I’ll take pictures later, if anyone can give me tips about what I can do to fix it, cuz I don’t think maintenance will deal with it as it’s our washer/dryer set.
*I usually toast a bagel, or make toast or throw some instant cream of wheat into my backpack and take with me to work. I can’t really eat right away when I wake up, I feel sick if I do usually.
