An Artsy-Fartsy Aftermath MMP

I hate everybody.

Went to church today. Isn’t church supposed to put you in an uplifted mood?

Never mind. Bah. This isn’t about church.

I still hate everybody. Especially if they run XY.
Bad timing. Sorry. Nothing to do with the day–happy father’s day, all. Just don’t talk to me.

I think Swampy and Special One would make a purrrrrfect couple! I think you’ve been outvoted, Special One. Hey, you started it.

I third the vote to hie thee to the eye doctor soonest, FCM. Don’t mess around with your eyes; you’ve only got one set.

I woke up at 9:00 this morning and took care of the call of nature, and then decided to lie down again for a minute. I then woke up again at 10:58. So I guess I needed a whole bunch of extra sleep. I certainly got it, anyway.

I’m going to have to be a good girl here and get some work done this afternoon. Or maybe not. I also need to get the supplies for the Flying Spaghetti Monsters I’m going to knit. I had the pattern sitting on my desk yesterday, and Papa Tigs came in to talk to me about something and picked it up. Since he ignores most of popular internet culture, he’d never heard of FSM (bless his noodly appendages), so the look of mystification on his face was a thing of beauty indeed.

You’re brilliant! She loves that sort of thing. And I so can’t afford a day at a day spa, but I can probably swing a massage at Mario Tricoci or that other new spa place.

I would kill for a taco right now.

**FCM **-- In case nobody’s told you yet, go see a doctor, 'K?

OK, now that I’ve got the seriousness out of my system…

Mika, Mama Tiger, Swampy… OK, OK, I’ve conceded already! But **swampy **-- you’ll have to actually get your ass on a plane to collect :stuck_out_tongue:
(Good thing it’s just a message board!)

Thanks! And pretty enough to need quoting

Um… on second thought… haze, will you vouch for my Team Allegiance? Pretty Please? :o I’ll provide proof if necessary!

I’ve had a nap, the dog has had her bath, and I have been forced to turn on the A/C.

: hides from rigs : Here’s a song for you.

FCM, get your eye checked out, or have FCD flip your lid.

Don’t mess with eyes–you could scratch the cornea which is very painful.

I still hate mostly everybody. Sorry, but there it is.

I like George Strait, though-who knew? (not a country fan over here).

I feel more like that one song that starts out, “I hate the world today” and goes on to a chorus of “I’m a bitch…”
Yep, that’s me.

And now back to the regular MMP…

SpecialOne you are off the hook*. ACBG says I can’t go to Tel Aviv and [del]stalk[/del] sweep you off your feet. He claims he ain’t through with me yet.

I was remiss earlier, so… to all you father types…

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

I am soooooo full! That was one hyuuuuuuuge Sunday dinner as we like to say down here in the southern USofA. Fried chicken (I outdid myself once again), hominy/corn casserole, butter beans, smashed N.O.T. and gravy, rolls and of course, ‘nanner puddin’. Oh and JoeDawg’s daddy showed his appreciation for my yardbird fryin’ rescue by havin’ bloody mary’s ready when we arrived this mornin’. Now that’s showin’ some appreciation, let me tell ya! Then again he should appreciate it, cause now that I think about it, I made the ‘nanner puddin’, fried up the yardbird and made the gravy. :dubious:

doggio I think this may be a song more suited for rigs right now.
*[sub]For now at least[/sub]

::Steps carefully around rigs::

Has anyone told FCM to get to a doc? I’ve had friends with what seemed like mild eye injuries that turned out to be extremely serious…

Accomplishments:

Have watered everywhere.

Have finished a business analysis document that needed to be drafted for a 9:00 a.m. meeting tomorrow (and which was requested late Friday p.m.). It didn’t turn out too badly, I hope. It needs to be utter perfection by 1:30 tomorrow.

Stopped by Wild Oats to stock up on lunch stuff.

Begged off on a dinner invite so that I can get a few things done at home.

Have laundry sorted, with first load in the washer.

Am making sure all clothing type objects are either put away or in the laundry piles.

Am doing stuff to the tune of loud Spanish rock.

Will mow the lawn when it cools off a bit. (Gonna go check as soon as I have the recycling sorted and ready to go out to the curb.)

Back later.

GT

The cat just walked past me and had a price tag stuck to his butt. He’s going for $109.95, apparently.

Half price sale!! One day only!

(Seriously, I haven’t bought anything for $109.95. I wonder where he got it.)

Happy Father’s Day!!

you owe me a new keyboard :D:D:D:D:D:D

Rosie, for you, the dog votes that I pay shipping and you can have him.

I think your link is bad there Lem .

Watched a parade in 93 degree weather, walked about 3 miles altogether, ate a hot dog in the shade, then came home and had a nap until Cuervo decided my nose needed licking.

Apparently yesterday I volunteered to accompany the Wife to the neighbors and take their garbage to the curb while she cat sits.

Later there will be pizza.

Then I’ll get some work done, because in the next week, I’m away from the office 5 days.

OK, I have the number for an Opthamology practice near me - I’ll be calling them first thing in the morning. Second thing. First, I need to call my supervisor and tell him I won’t be in.

So you can all stop nagging. OK??

Sheesh…

FCM, we nag because we lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve. But you knew that, right? Also, a visit to the ophthalmologist will make good fodder for a future MMP.

Here’s Lemme’s link, I hope. I think the original had an extra bracket. Price-tag story made me giggle and reminded me of this cartoon that was linked in this IMHO thread..

I have NOT wedges in the oven. I’m having them with fake Kräuterquark (herb cheese - quark is a fresh cheese that is something between yogurt and sour cream, only firmer; one of the Vermont dairy companies makes one, but it’s not the same). Oh, and I think I’m going to have a side of corn on the cob, just because.

Then I’ll mow the lawn.

Off to put away some laundry and collect up the recycling while the NOTs are finishing up.

Speaking of whom: Taters, are you out there???

Back after a while, I’m sure.

GT

Well, there ya go! Take sis for a massage then y’all go out for [del]margaritas[/del] Mexican.

FCM go see the eye doctor! Oh wait, that’s been settled. And it didn’t even take a single “young lady!” :stuck_out_tongue:

gt are you makin’ Rebo’s N.O.T. wedges? They’re soooooo good!

Thank you, GT. I’m very rusty for not having posted in six months or so. Loved the cartoon. It made me

Hey, no takers on the marked down kitty? I’ll have to break the news to the pups…

Wear goggles - trust me on this one!!!

Earplugs too! Seriously. See, I have a slight hearing loss (What? I said, I have a slight hearing loss! ) and years ago I was told that wearing earplugs while mowing, weed whackin’, using the blower and all that there good stuff would be a good idea cause not doing so could lead to more problems. Just sayin’.

I am nominally better. I have narrowed down the hatin’ to certain men (none live here).

Maybe I should even go so far as to say one certain man–that lets a whole slew of 'em off the hook.

Liked the song, Swampus.
I have further decreed it to be a Fudgsicle summer–and none of that 70 calorie bars crap… I mean the luscious 100 calorie big bars. Nummy.

It’s effing hot out there, not helping my mood one bit. My husband has been in a right snit all day–and Happy Father’s Day to YOU, too.

Doggy was cute in fixed link–liked the cat as well, but what I lusted after was the cleanliness of the utility room/kitchen(?)/garage shown. I should be so lucky…

The weekend has been too short! laughs Saturday, my daughter and I went to Target (I don’t want to admit to what my entrance fee there was!), then to see the movie “Nancy Drew” at the just-opened movie theatres up the street from us. This is the closest we’ve been to the movies in a -long- time and it will be nice when other things open up there, but right now, it’s just the movies that are open! I was hungry so I got a $3.25 hot dog - and it came on a whole wheat bun. Hehehe, I don’t know, it just seems like if you’re going to eat something as bad for you as a hot dog, you might as well go all the way & have it on a soft, white roll! Nancy Drew was pretty good, btw; enjoyable entertainment without too much violence (yes, there’s violence even for Nancy!), no swearing and no nudity (at least, none that I recall …:D).

Today I was going to try to get to the Farmer’s Market, but I had to go grocery shopping too, so the grocery store won. My daughter usually goes shopping with me but didn’t feel like it today so I was on my own. gasp I didn’t do too badly–only forgot two things on my list and they weren’t really necessary, and I only got a few (well, maybe more than a few) “extras.” laughs Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream was among them.

Tomorrow I head to the medical center for the ultrasound of my thyroid. I’m going to try to make it to work for the afternoon, but that will really depend on if the appointment goes as scheduled, I mean at the time it’s scheduled for, and then if I make all the bus/subway connections on time. I can feel the lump on the right side of my neck, but there’s not as much swelling as there had been (from the goiter?) since I’ve been taking the 150 mg of the thyroid med. At any rate, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow; the appointment with the endocrinologist isn’t until June 29th, unfortunately. I guess my primary care physician will also look at the ultrasound results and they’ll call me if it’s something that should be taken care of immediately.

So I’ve been reading the MMP and all, but just haven’t been posting. But I have been thinking of you all and following your posts!! MBG, you’re going to get into trouble, boy! And Kaiwik, sounds like you had a bit of a heat wave up there on Kodiak! And FCM, I hope your appointment with the opthamologist goes well tomorrow; I’ll be thinking of you.
