An Artsy-Fartsy Aftermath MMP

It’s 73 here, and that’s today’s low.

Went a’Festing, had some beerverages, saw friends off, took the 'not coming home tonight, had a few drinks" call from the Kid, and have a Cuervo next to me waiting for bedtime.

'Night

Morning all! Been busy – got my first cup of coffee at 10, got to writing my Daily Entry here just now – 12 Noon. (Checks Calendar) Nope, not technically Monday… but it definitely qualifies anyway! Pity me… Anyway,

**MBG **-- She wasn’t an art student, just a sales-person. But she sounds roughly representative of the pickings here  Eat your heart out :stuck_out_tongue: (I know I do almost daily)
And it’s definitely already summer here. Driving in the city is dangerous, damnit! I mean, **how **am I supposed to keep my eyes on the road, huh?

**Mika **-- I think I’ll have to come over and conclusively prove to you which team I play for  Oh, and lovely pictures of your outing, too.

**Swampy **-- You’re welcome to try if you want to experience the ultimate “hard to get” chase :stuck_out_tongue: Just remember, in every sport I’ve ever heard of, physically assaulting a member of the other team is cause for immediate [del]ejac[/del] um… ejection

**FCM **-- what a nice way to make a Father’s Day present! Original, simple, useful.

**Bobbio **-- we could have used you here at work today – one of the women just up and keeled over  Woke up within a minute and forbade us to call an ambulance – claims it happens to her once or twice a year and she’s OK. She’s sitting about 4 desks over from me right now and working like nothing happened. (because I think she should have at least gone to see a doctor. But hey, can’t force her I guess.)

I’m up and my eye still doesn’t feel exactly right. I don’t know if something is still in there or if it’s just residual irritation. Stoopit eye. As for turning my eyelid over - *<shudder> * ugh.

I forgot to finish cleaning my paint brushes last night - I left them in a cup of soapy water. So this morning, I rinsed them as much as I could. They’re out drying so I can finish painting today. I don’t mind painting, but I do hate the cleanup. I will be glad to have this chore done.

Windows are all open, probably for the last time this summer. Alas. It’s 60-ish right now, but that won’t last. I don’t so much mind the heat as I hate having to turn on the air conditioner. If it wasn’t for FCD, I’d leave it open more, but the heat really affects him. I can always pull on a sweater, but he can only remove so may layers. So I guess this’ll be it till maybe September?? <sigh>

Anyway, painting and maybe some box-contents sorting today. Nothing major. Just a nice, easy day.

Afternoon, everyone! Today promises to be the best day of the weekend, in fact the best day of the week from what the weatherman said. I’ve been out making the most of it as only I know how…been in the gym!

I was up relatively early for a Sunday so I spent a little time reading messageboards and checking up on my auction site. Then I got ready to go to the gym and did an hour’s workout. I’m all ready for a nice hot shower now.

This afternoon I have to go down to the hobby shop for some fancy-dress supplies then I’m off to my friend’s house as we have to get to work on our costumes. That means I’ll have the evening to myself which will be nice - time to relax and get my head in order before next week.

I’m off work on Tuesday so in the morning I’m going to a recruitment agency I used to temp for, I desperately need to be away from the petty, mean-spirited folks I work with.

So, shower, dry hair and then make lunch. The fridge says I should have cauliflower cheese with green beans today. And I always do what the fridge says.

I’m up and caffeinating before Mass. Today is doggie bath day(Hi Alice!).

BooFae, good luck with the job hunt.

Special One, I like Monday, but that’s becuase I always work on the weekends.

Howdy Y’all! I’m up and caffienatin’ here but it is not helping. I am not motivated to do anything. I don’t wanna get dressed to go out! I gotta though cause I did say I’d go do lunch and all with a friend’s family, so do that we shall. I should get cleaned up and go to church cause I could before headin’ out. The ‘nanner puddin’ got made last night (it’s best if it’s made the night before, IMHO), so we could just run back by da cave and pick it up. I just don’t wanna get dressed for some reason. And, just to clear up things in y’all’s pervy minds, I am not sittin’ here nekkid. I am in a night shirt and my drawers. Just ain’t motivated is all. Oh and the paper’s late this mornin’ too.

SpecialOne according to MBG the dirty old men of Tel Aviv would be chasin’ me, so… YOU’RE IT!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lessee…
Dirty – check (well, at least my mind is. I wash my body once a month, whether I need to or not…!)
Old – getting there :o (well, at least my body is… my mind is still struggling with the transition to “juvenile”)
Man – check, check, check.
of Tel-Aviv – check.

Guess I fit MBG’s description…

:: frantically looks around for somebody else in the line-up that fits the description ::

:: ooooops!! ::

:eek::eek::D:eek::stuck_out_tongue:

The line-up was fixed, fixed I tells ya! It ain’t me! I’ve been framed!!!

I slept all day yesterday except for a three hour stretch during which I had my one meal of the day and played with Smokey.
And that actually sounds like a plan for today, too.

I want your day, rosie!

SO: That’s what they all say.

Good on you for starting to look, BooFae. No reason to stay around poisonous people if there are alternatives.

I’ve watered everything thoroughly and am heading off to church to water there as well. Then it’s off to work to get some stuff done in preparation for a couple of meetings tomorrow. :frowning:

Back this eveningish…

GT

So, SpecialOne, How YOU doin’?

Oh me Oh my a crisis has erupted! At least according to a phone call I just had. If y’all will recall, we’re headin’ over to JoeDawg’s daddy’s house for lunch today as he is having his family over for lunch cause it’s Father’s Day here in the USofA. It seems that his electric skillet has just up and died on him. Never fear though, da bear to the rescue! As soon as ol’ y’all know who is done purtifyin’, we’re headed over there with electric skillet in tow. As a matter of fact, beyond that, you’re ever helpful bear has offered to fry chicken personally. I do fry chicken especially well, if’n I do say so myself. He’s so lucky to have such a good friend.

Good morning all!

I’ve already had to get dressed and go looking for two doggies who took an unauthorized trek around the neighborhood. Sometimes the front door doesn’t latch right, and they got out for about 15 minutes. But Ernie came when I called, and Lucy was just in the front yard, coming back home already, so it wasn’t too big a deal.

Mr Rebo is still sleeping. Methinks he had a couple too many beerverages last night…

I’m getting hungry. I think I’ll make some breakfast scramble - potatoes, onions, peppers, sausage, cheese and eggs all cooked together and served with tortillas. Mmm.

OK so far … all stocked up at the drug store and keeping a wary eye out on the Airport website for arrivals from Georgia…:smiley: Those guys from Tbilisi* are dangerous, I tells ya! :stuck_out_tongue:

Will the defense “but I’m married” work at this late stage? :dubious:

  • Oh, wait, wrong Georgia.

Driving HUsband probably won’t take back his offer. He still wants to marry her. I’d have kicked her to the curb a long time ago, if it were my proposal. Mr. Lissar told her off very harshly last week, but she won’t move unless something forces her.

It’s morning, I slept well except for waking up at three to throw up. I was in bed mostly from ten to nine-thirty, barring the hour spent awake and waiting to puke. I’m waiting patiently right now, too. Heff, I appreciate your concern, and what you’re trying to say. This is kind of extreme, but within the range of normal, and the baby’s fine. It should only be another few weeks before I feel better.
It’s hot here, but the temp’s supposed to drop midweek, so I don’t know if we should put in the a/c.

Stoopit eye. We went out and got some breakfast, then stopped at a pharmacy for some eye wash. I thought that stuff was supposed to be gentle and stuff. It STINGS!!! I must have super-sensitive eyes. No surprise, really, being all sensitive like I am anyway… :stuck_out_tongue: Still, I’ve tried 3 times to flush the offending particle out and I’m not sure if I got it or not.

Weirdest thing about all of this. Whether I use eyedrops or the eyewash, if it trickles from the side of my eye, the rest of my face acts like I’m crying! My nose gets all snuffly and I feel like I’m in the middle of a big bawl! How bizarre is that??

I’ve got the doors all staged and ready for more paint. I just need to change into painting grubbies. I don’t wanna. I don’t wanna do nuttin’!! <pout> But it’s got to be done, and it’s my chore. So I guess I’ll waste a little more time here, then get back into the garage.

Life can be soooooooo unfair! <sob-snuffle-sob>

My, such goings-on!

I went to hang out with one of my friends (I guess I’ll him Mr. Cheerio here, since his favorite joke is that his penis is so small he could have sex with a Cheerio and not break it :dubious: ) - he’s the new roommate of That Guy and That Guy’s Roommate (TGR). That Guy and TGR used to room with a 50-year-old falconer who turned out to be the Roommate from Hell (they found hinm on craigslist). He did make for a lot of good stories though. Anyway, Mr. Cheerio has now taken his place. That Guy and TGR were away for TGR’s brother’s wedding, so I hung out with Mr. Cheerio for the evening and ended up crashing there for the night. Mr. Cheerio introduced me to Nutella spread on tortillas.

Have a lovely Sunday, all!

Wow, I don’t often post in the weekend MMP, do I?

FCM - all the ducts are connected to each other, so the water from your eye runs straight down to your nose. And I’m telling you, either turn your eyelid upside down or hie thee to an ophthalmalogist. ASAP. Seriously, it’s your eyes, and if you damaged one of them and don’t know, you need to find out. Not to mention it could be a bacterium causing it. And of course there’s always the potential scratched eyelid. He can turn your eyelid upside down for you.

I’m serious about this. If it hurts that continuously it sounds like some kind of damage and it needs to be taken care of. Maybe the paint is irritating you, too.

I think **swampbear **and special one are a match made in…well, not heaven, so let’s say Tel Aviv. Besides, are you saying our swampy’s not good enough for ya? :dubious:

Morning.

Happy Dad’s Day to all the MMP/dads!!

Up, loaded with caffeine and Shredded Wheat, and am just killing time before we head off to the parade and associated goings on. After, it’s just here to do nuttin and maybe order a pizza later.

**Mika ** - it’s not a constant irritant, but when it hits, it does bring on the tears. I promise if I’m still hurting tomorrow, I will go see someone. There’s no way I can turn my eyelid - believe me, I’ve been trying. The reason I wear glasses instead of contacts is that the thought of putting something on my eye gives me major heebie-jeebies. I admit it - I’m a wuss when it comes to medical-related stuff.

Anyway, I just tried another flush. We’ll see how it goes.

And I put the first coat of paint on the reverse sides of the doors. I know the paint isn’t an irritant because this all started when I was mowing. I got a bit of something that was kicked up by whirling blades.

**FCD ** is back at the boat doing boat stuff. I’ve got to wait 4 hours before I can do the next coat, and I’m not sure how productive I want to be. I really need to clean my studio. I ran the vacuum earlier - that’s something at least. Oh, and I need to do at least one load of shirts for work. I suppose I can toss them in now.

A nap might be nice…

Is it Father’s Day? Weird Westerners - in Korea we just wrap it all into one Parents’ Day. :stuck_out_tongue: Ah well. For all our MMP fathers -

//*/Happy Father’s Day!***

Happy Fathers’ Day, all you dads and dad-like beings. I’ve been to church, where everything was watered very thoroughly and have just had some lasagna to get me through the afternoon.

I DON’T WANNA GO TO WORK!!!

But I hafta, so off I go. With enthusiasm and inspiration. Really. Honest. Would I kid?
