An Assortment of Danish for the MMP

Yeah wow, no wonder I was cold. The Pilot light was off!! :smack:

Big boy pants L

Time for N.O.L.!

I’m so glad I’ve trained my six year old to do the dishes AND brew coffee!

I am on the hunt for something free and new to do today. I have a crown procedure scheduled for Tuesday and it’s $1,100!

I hope ya’ll have a great Saturday!

Hey, it’s afternoon! At least it is here. Hi, all! Nice big boy pants there, swampy!

I was up at 5 to let Scruffy out, but I crawled back into bed… till 9!!! I think it helped that it’s all grey and drizzly and chilly (all of 52° right now) so sleeping in seemed to be the best choice. Then **FCD **decided he wanted Denny’s for breakfast (brunch?) - we just got back. He’s futzing in his workshop and I’ll hit my studio after I read all my comics and Dear Abby.

I got some ideas for clay sculptures based on totem poles - I can throw and decorate them in sections. So I’m going to reconstitute some clay and throw a few sections and see how it’ll work out.

We were going to go to the Blessing of the Fleet this weekend, but it’s looking like drizzly cold both days. Guess we’ll wait till next year.

Oh, and it’s the first of the last quarter - it’s furnace filter changing day!! What excitement!!

Happy Saturday, all!

I had a good sleep, assisted by a nice big glass of White Zin.

Which beats the heck out of a big white zit anyday.

The <snerk> butts <snerk> are off the smoker and in the ovens now. I say ovens cause three of ‘em are in the conventional as opposed to the convection oven which means those three will cook a bit longer but they’re all ovenin’ (is too a word, I made it up! so there!:p) away. They look and smell nummy!

In other news brunch set up (tomorrow is brunch Sunday) is goin’ on as I post. I am such a Whiskypalian. I just said, “if y’all need me I’ll be in the All Saints Room.” That’s the name of our big multi-purpose meetin’ room. So this post is comin’ to you from the All Saints Room. Feel special.

Big boy pants! snerk

swampy I purchased fleecey jammies, welly warmers, mascara, philosophy body lotion and some nice knee high boots for my sister. For my dad some columbia hiking shoes, my mam a pashmina scarf, my sister’s boyfriend some long sleeved athletic warm up shirts and for mr ems some bright red union suits such as these http://www.carhartt.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=10051&productId=96544&langId=-1.

Strickly speaking those sexy undies are not for Christmas - he works outside and needed new ones for this winter as his current ones which are the colour of baby poop are threadbare :stuck_out_tongue:

mmmmmms just admit it. You bought those undies for Mr. MMMMMMs to parade around in front of you like a piece of meat.

My kids bought that same union suit from that store a few years ago for my husband. Those things are toasty. As soon as he unwrapped them on Christmas morning, he put them on.

Sigh, I don’t even want to think about Christmas yet.

I don’t want to think about Christmas either. We’ll be driving to Ocala, and I absolutely dread that thought. I like my inlaws just fine, but I hate hate hate spending all day in the car, and hate worse dragging the drive out over 2 days. I wish they could sell their place and move closer to us… Oh well.

Still wasting time on line. Playing in clay just doesn’t seem to appeal to me today. A nap does, tho.

Mmmmmms, I must know. Does it have a butt flap?

I would not ordinarily be thinking of Christmas either but good grief I am bored.

swampy yes he will model them for me. He looks good in red

janis ( I cannot remember the appropriate nickname sorry…) yes they do have a trap door. With buttons!

Sorry. Already started thinking about Christmas. Mostly “What can I make for my kids, really cheaply?” because I am going to enjoy the last couple of years before they definitely want gaming systems or something. I think I might make Gnat some dress-up clothes. A Cat in the Hat hat and a cape and, I dunno, an octopus outfit or something? TomKitten I have no idea about, but he’s still too little to be very interested.

New international student arrives at eight tomorrow morning. I am drilling Gnat in manners and hope 'll be wearing something decent. There’s about a 20% chance we’ll make it to church, since Mr. Lissar is gone all weekend and I’m going to be shepherding the new guy around.
I want coke, and we don’t have any, dammit.

Hi everyone!

Hope the [snerk]butt[/snerk] is yummy, swampy.

We’ve had a pretty lazy morning and went to Dewey’s Pizza for a late lunch before my brother left to go to a concert with a friend. Salad and pizza were yummy. (If you have one near you, you should go; it’s a very nice company with very good food.)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, would you do my Christmas shopping for me? Am probably going to see Mom, so I need to think something up for her and for my uncles’ families, and for a couple of my cousins. Hmmmm.

Need to do some laundry and go to Tar-jhay today. Anyone need anything?

Hugs all.

GT

Yup, Swampy, I had to get out the long pants this week too, Most disturbing aspect is having to wear shoes and socks! My toes don’t know how to behave, it’s all dark and squished up in there! :frowning:

MMMmmmmmmms, Wifey says you should buy Mr. Ems a pink tutu and cowboy boots to wear with his union suit for Halloween. This is a sight which I have unfortunately witnessed before. (Not Mr Ems specifically, you understand)

I, personally, don’t even want to think about Halloween yet.

Show of hands everybody who believes it was Bumba in the longjohns, pink tutu and cowboy boots.

The Altar Guild folk are here. When they came in somebody said, “it’s just the Altar Guild.” I replied, “Ok. I assume we are not giving out keys to the church to ax murderers but ya never know.”

I makes my own entertainment, I do.

[del]If[/del] When I win big in the Lottery, I’m hosting a Mumpfest and paying all y’all’s airfare and hotel.

Hotel? You mean you’re not going to buy a spacious waterfront estate and entertain us in such elegant surroundings? I’m not sure I want to come then…

:stuck_out_tongue:

OK, back to reality. I just finished reconstituting a bunch of clay. It was a messy chore and it really dried out my hands, but I’ve got clay ready for my next project. I have a couple in mind - we’ll see which ones work out. I also changed out the furnace filter. And now I’ve quit.

Not sure what we’ll do for supper - I don’t feel like cooking but I don’t feel like going out. That sorta limits our options. Hey, swampy, do you deliver butt? (I’m probably gonna regret asking that.)

It’s warmed all the way up to 56°, and it’s about 67° in the house. I see gooooooood sleepin’ weather again tonight. Well, except for the stoopit rain part.

Oh, that’ll be easy. The sad thing is that now that they’re baked and glazed, and I’ve slept, I have no idea which one I was talking about. Some are quite pretty but I wouldn’t call any of them gorgeous. Hmm, the trials of being sleep deprived at 8am.

clay stuff

That’s all the stuff I’ve made over the last few insomniac nights. The ones in the second half already have various types of necklace things. The ones I made today do not, because I ran out. Pretty much everything in there, except the paw ornament, was made by grabbing random chunks of scrap clay and mashing them together.

Very pretty! How heavy are the pieces? I tried making some pendants with stoneware, but they were much too heavy, plus glazing was next to impossible for a variety of reasons.

Cleaning cleaning.
