Yes, shortdrum, you’re going to have to come here - bring your entire inventory.
This is what my toe looks like today. Bobbio, would the ER or a clinic be able to anything other than x-ray it, give me a 'scrip for pain meds, and tell me to stay off it?
Hon, unless that is the normal shape of your toe, I dare say it’s busted. By experience with Tae Kwon Do injuries, ER docs won’t do anything about broken toes, except for the big’un. The big toe does most of the work walking, so they will set it or refer you to an ortho to have it done. Secondary opinion is dislocation, and that is definitely something they deal with
Go to the ER, get the x-rays, and find out if it is broken, and if the metatarsal is involved. No matter what they say, you’re in for about 2 weeks of exquisite pain, so take the drugs.
Very short bambilance story coming. The calls were not noteworthy, but the background stuff was entertaining.
Up. brekkied, and I also have an exceedingly cute dog on my lap, but he wiggles too much.
Sorry about your owie Rosie. Do what Bobbio said. And if that is the normal shape of that toe, you’re wearing the wrong shoes.
Slept like a rock last night. I have discovered generic Tylenol PM. Actually Wifey discovered it, but she let me in on the secret. Wow. That stuff knocks me right out. This is interesting, as I’m normally very resistant to any kind of pain medication. I usually joke that morphine is the only drug I really like. They gave me some when I had my heart attack and it was the first time in years nothing hurt! It was glorious!
Anyway, acetaminophin is now my friend.
The schedule for today consists of house-cleaning, followed by more house-cleaning. I can hardly wait. Oh, and Wifey is gonna work on our taxes. Yes, we got an extension. Doesn’t everybody?
You mean we can get Amish bambilance stories now? AWESOME!
Based on my experience with my little nephews when they were About That Age, the only present they want is to rip the wrapping paper off of everyone else’s presents.
Hopefully all the crises have passed at Casa de Spaz y Boys. Today looks to be relatively calm.
Bumba, the acetaminophen isn’t what knocked you out, it was the Diphenhydramine HCl which is in Benedryl and the like. Unless, I suppose, tylenol does make you sleepy, in which case, you’re some sort of medical freak.
It’s still grey and ick, so we didn’t go out. Instead, I’ve got a beef stew started. After the beef, onions, and celery simmer for about an hour, I’ll add the N.O.T. and a sack of mixed veggies, and thicken it if necessary. It’s smelling good already. Have I ever mentioned that I make good soups?
Maybe I’ll toss the fixins for a loaf of bread into the bread machine, too…
rosie, All I have to say to that is OOOOOWWWWWWW!
I am soaked from knees to toes. Been out walking in the rain for 4 hours.
Operation “Outsmart the Terrible Iggy Dammit” take 3 starts now. We just bought yet another trash can, in the hopes that he can’t get into this one. This is why I don’t have kids (one of the many reasons). I can’t even outsmart a 10 month old dog.
Until I get my certification re-done and I get into the ALS unit, Amish bambilance stories will probably be rare, unless we make a run to Lowe’s or Wally*World. They don’t hang out in my end of the county except to go to those places.
Given that MOOOOOOM has spoken to Rue, that supercedes the need to put it to a vote then. shortdrum shall be our hostess with the mostess with an omelette bar tomorrow mornin’.
I have deheathenated, got my picture took with a whole buncha Whiskypalians, brunched and napped. All in all a productive day so far!
Rosie – Ow! What a way to start out the new year… Or did you misread “Let us be a Head and not a Tail” as “lets go tail over head…”? (d&r) ems – you too
Tarra – I’m trying Thanks! I’ve seen footage from the Balloon Fiesta in the past and it sound like something that has to be seen close up.
Li-li!! Good so see you! If only so I can point and say “see? she’s been around even less than I have been, lately!”
I am going to my doc in the a of m. He’s a rheumatologist and there’s an orthopedist in his practice. If he can’t do something about it, he’ll direct me to someone who can. It still hurts but since I put a slippersock on to keep my foot warm the hurt is localized to the injury instead of my whole foot. (cold feet don’t hurt unless the foot is hurt).
Blech. We cleaned the hard top and put it on the Jeep so if and when it gets fixed, it’ll be ready for winter. Now I’m hot, sweaty, and dirty…and I still have a fire going. I think I’m going to go take a cold shower so I can enjoy it before it goes out.
