An Assortment of Danish for the MMP

Blurf, my goodness what a week so far!

Off today for Rosh Hashana- so Happy New Year, y’all!

Continuing the blurf.

Work is feeding us lunch today. Otherwise, I got nothing.

Just a drive by ------ see everyone next MMP!

We wondered that Mooom- he’s not visible again this morning, but two other people saw him, so I didn’t just hallucinate him…
We figured he’d just moved in with a new girlfriend or something- maybe he was just checking if he’d had any mail when he showed up last night. I hope they split up if it is the case though, he really didn’t look like he’d been having a nice time, and I’m worried about him.

(If you’re going to call me ‘Nut’, I might as well live up to it  )

Fish tank parrallel universe theory is, I believe, an accepted scientific theory. Keep an eye on him he may bring friends

I had a rough day yesterday lots of pain and PT was awful but today it is like I am a new woman! Up and checked work e-mail (even though technically I am on STD and shouldn’t be) I followed up on a few quick things to ease the load on Monday when I am back to work from home. Printed out the new forms that the bank wants filled in to hopefully approve the short sale on the house in Cali. I have written a couple of thankyou cards for ‘Get Well Flowers’ that I got and I am about to go and brown the ground beef to make shepherds pie for supper. It will be topped with sweet potato mash not regular mash as our grocery sto’ had them on special a couple of weeks ago when I did the last grocery shop. I baked those yesterday. I will then eat lunch cook up the onions and veggies etc and make the gravy for the shepherds pie.

mr ems is doing a great job but he is feeling a little stressed trying to come up with meals every night so I am helping out with something that won’t take much doing for me (ie don’t need to be on my feet much).

Then more home PT then a shower under supervision as my balance is still not good which is the highlight of my day! mr ems has offered to scrub my back

yay on tickets rebo!

My parents are arriving in an hour, and I’m actually ready, with enough time to sit and post for a few minutes! I pulled pastitsio out of the freezer for dinner tonight, I have apple crisp ready to bake, I have beets roasted, the bed is made for them, and I have a couple kinds of hummus and tzaziki ready for snacks. Am I good or what?? :stuck_out_tongue:

I posted a picture of the super cute sailboat baby blanket that I finished on Sunday. Now I need a new project. I’ve got a mohair scarf going, but it’s almost done. Maybe a shawl next. Or the alpaca socks that I’ve been promising KT for a year!

Have a good weekend!

LOVE the sailboat blanket - where did you get the pattern?

Have y’all seen this? It’s not Danish but it is awesome (and completely SFW).

I just got the most amazingly awesomely wonderful news!

The head of financial aid at school worked her magic got me a cost of living loan, even without professional estimates to prove why I need the money.

This means that at the end of October, I will get a check for $3000, which will allow me to fix up the Jeep and make it a reliable vehicle with a valid inspection sticker (and a floor that isn’t about to turn it into a Flinstone mobile).

I don’t know how she did it, without the estimates. The body shop that already gave me one for the floor work got flattened in the tornado and I can’t take it out to get any more because of the rejection sticker. The only estimate I have is the one to get rejection stuff fixed. All I know is that she is the most amazingly wonderful person I’ve ever met. She has worked miracles over the last year, including getting the school to give me a scholarship on 2 days notice - all so, as she says, “you can be successful in school”.

Well, glad I did not attend services today, I have &*@#$% pinkeye!! really miserable right now, bit I got some drops from the doc, so hopefully will be better in a day or two.
Chikin Pot pie for dindin tonight.
**
Taxi **-- that is a cute blankie!
Mmmmmmm sounds like you are on the mend, but take it easy & don’t overdo. Tell Mr. mmmmmm to make some miracle chicken. it is ridiculously easy. Mix 3/4 MIracle whip, 1/2 c parmesean cheese and 1 t oregano, coat chicken pieces/quarters, bake in oven. easy peasy.

Plus also, 'gratz, Congodwarf!!

Wow, shortdrum! I wish a financial aid person like that worked at my daughter’s school! I’m very happy for you!

I know I’ve been relatively quiet this week, so hugs, gropes and kisses as appropriate. I skimmed but haven’t retained all that much. I’m sorry.

I’ve spent the last two days being sick, but I’m finally able to sit upright, so that’s a step in the right direction. I also managed to finally keep down a piece of toast.

There isn’t much else going on here. A friendship was ended today, but I knew it was coming and I really don’t feel all that badly about it. He was more my husband’s friend than mine, but even my husband is sort of glad it’s over. The guy had become really selfish twit in the last several months and we were sick of that anyway. Today, said twit dropped me and my kids as friends on FB. He hasn’t contacted my husband either. So, it’s over and I’m kind of glad. He treated another friend quite badly and I think he knew that we just were not happy with him about how it happened and that we saw straight through his bullshit.

Enough of that.

**emmms, stay off your leg. Hell, even if hubby makes mac and cheese and hot dogs, it’s still something. I don’t care what my husband makes, as long as he’s making the effort to make something.

Thanks guys!
Taters It helps that I haven’t had any income since 2009 and I’m not married. I’m eligible for a lot of aid but sometimes getting it can be a hassle and that’s when her being totally awesome comes in.

My daughter hasn’t really had any income for the last couple of years either. Additionally, she lives with her boyfriend, however, due to her age (she’ll be 22 in January), she still has to have my and my husband’s income on her FASFA.

As we all know, that’s a total joke. I don’t know how the idiots that determine what you qualify for think my husband and I can pay for two kids in college. Well, I guess if we didn’t want to live in our house, try to pay our bills and eat, we could.

Anyway, I’m glad it’s worked out for you.

I hope the pink eye clears up soon, janis. I haven’t had that since I was kid and am in no big hurry to ever have it again.

This really annoys me. How can she be counted on your income if she’s not even living with you? There are some times that I’m glad I’m in my 30’s and this is one of them. Of course, my mom’s income never counted for me anyway because I was a ward of the court.

How much longer until your income stops mattering?

I have no idea, **congo. **I’m going to have to look into it.

I may have to buy these . . .

Huh, just looked it up. She’ll have to be 24 to not have into include our income.

How freakin’ stupid.

Congrats, congo! Very cool to have good support from the financial aid office.

My car is at the shop for its 95K mile service, so if I want to go anywhere tomorrow, I get to take the truck. Luckily, I don’t think I need to go anywhere, so yay!

It’s cooling down and drying out at last. The house is wide open and I’m *soooooooooo *glad! Soon, the doors will dry out and they’ll stop sticking. huzzah!

And for the record, I’m sick to death of all the “news” about Michael Jackson. Criminy, it’s almost as bad as the news overload right after he died. He was a performer. He’s dead. How about we report on real news in the world?

I need ice cream to deal with my crabby. Stoopit “news”…

OMG OMG OMG!!!

It’s raining!!!
