An external viewpoint

I was going to put this in an election thread, but I just couldn’t be bothered, it is not really what they are talking about or anything. It is just an outside look at what the rest of the world sees in the American Election. Taken from an Australian Newspaper (Sydney Morning Herald). http://smh.com.au/news/0011/10/html/cartoon.html

If it is gone, it just shows a game show host announcing “and the winner is” with Gore on 24%, Bush on 24%, Nader on 2% and Couldn’t Care on 50%. Basically, only bush and gore got a quarter of the vote.

My solution, they have a joint presidency! WHy not? It could be the odd couple, for real. Who knows, they actually end up liking each other. (like one of the other Australian news items - the mutual appreciation society between the leader of the country and the leader of the opposition)

And was this the biggest Hollywood blockbuster of the year? The action, the drama, the morally ambiguous hero/enemy (whoever you want).

Look, If we wanted a presidency that couldn’t decide between Democratic and Republican views we would have just elected Gore.

Yep, It could work just as well as it did in Israel!

Or Sweden or Germany. Don’t just look at the negative examples. Or do you consider that the US is more like the middle east than Europe?
