An Impatient MMP

Yawn.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 39 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 58 for the day. Yesterday at this time it was high 60s out. Welcome to Winter in south Jawja.

Soapy yay for house on the market! Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for a quick and profitable sale.

mmmmmms hope the job gets better or you find sump’n better. Never hurts to look I say.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Ah well, at least it’s Firday.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

I don’t care how good it looks, never stick it in Teh Crazy, even if she was your weight loss program.
Like either of us would ever get the chance anyway…

But I have a class on Saturday. :dubious:

Ya know, if the moron media is going to run with

Ya know, if the moron media is going to run with OHMYGODWEREALLGONNADIEFROMTHECOMINGSNOWPOCALYPSE!!!, they should be required to have malpractice insurance. There is a refreshing lack of the white stuff in my yard and on my vehicles this morning.

Yeah, my heart bleeds right now.

Good morning! Since I woke up at a ridiculous hour and had a hard time falling back to sleep, I decided to turn off the alarm and get up when I got up. I just got to work for what I expect will be a really short day. I know I have a few drawings to fix, and I should probably tidy my desk, but overall, I figure I’ll be gone by lunch time. I need to stop by WalMart for some critter food and aspirin, then home I’ll go.

And at the risk of bringing Miss Manners’ wrath down upon me, I need to postpone CounterFest '13. And NOT because swampy’s inevitable claims that we’re remodeling the whole house! :stuck_out_tongue:

When I picked the day in the first place, I figured - old counters out, new counters in, new paint, party! What I failed to anticipate was the need for structural supports for the breakfast bar - right now, there’s a leg fashioned of 2X4 scraps, but we’ve got to do a proper, non-hideous support. I also didn’t know that we’d be removing the top of the half wall and it now needs to be replaced - the old one won’t fit over the new backsplash. And I didn’t think about granite backsplashes being straight and square while our walls aren’t - we need to procure, paint, and install trim, then caulk it all. And the window frame had to be partially removed, so now it needs to be wholly replaced. And then there’s the electrical work.

Even with a 3-day weekend, there’s no way we can get it all done along with our normal chores like laundry and taking the trash to the convenience center, and my abnormal chore of trying to (still) get the coke stain out of the carpet. So, alas, I must be a bad hostess and say “Never mind…” in the hopes of doing something next month. I’m sorry. :frowning:

That’s part of why I couldn’t sleep. <sigh> At least the roads were clear and dry this morning.

Happy Firday anyway.

Like I said, massive overhaul of FairtChatEstate. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mornin’ all!

We got a card in the mail earlier this week from the wife’s aunt and uncle. Since Christmas was passed and the next B-day still 2 months away I asked what it was for. Oh, just congratulations on our anniversary.

Thanks, Nancy, for being early and saving my bacon! In my defense, I have haven’t forgotten again in the two days since the reminder, so there’s that.

Hopin’ the repairs and the sleep are cathartic and lasting, FCM.

SnOMGw! was a flop in my neighborhood.

Now people just need to eat all that bread and milk. I don’t understand the whole “Run out and buy every loaf of bread in the store!” thing - if I’m going to stock up on anything in a panic, it’s going to be MEAT. Even if it’s just hot dogs and cold cuts that can be eaten unheated, I want protein, not empty carbs.

Mooommm, What was the mumper count for next weekend? Do we still want to do a counterless mumperfest somewhere other than FairyChatEstates? I still gotta come home on Sat.

I’m at school again (class hasn`t started yet.)
It’s -19 degrees Celsius (-2 degrees F.) It’s so cold that your nostrils stick together.

I’m with you, gotti, on the whole protein v simple carbs thing. When Cousin and I go to the Mensa weekend thingys, Saturday morning, she grabs bagels and donuts, I grab cheese and granola bars, (one chapter even puts out hard boiled eggs for breakfast), then she’s ready for a nap by noon, and I’m ready to do things.

When were you going to be passing thru? I know you said it’d be later - perhaps we could meet for dinner? Maybe see if **BBBobbio **would be up for that, or anyone else, for that matter? I was tentatively figuring in the neighborhood of 8-12, depending on spousal units, tho I might have been a tad optimistic.

But yeah, we could see if there’s interest in meeting for food and conversation on Saturday when you pass thru the area.

Anyone?

**gotti **- I stopped in FoodLion on the way home from dinner last night, and I saw one woman there with FOUR GALLONS of milk!! Every forecast I’d seen said today would be sunny and above freezing (and it is) - I just don’t get it. Peoples is weird.

Twist my arm.

OW! That’s enough.

ETA: Now I will have to take VWife to the St. Clements appraisal fair next Saturday.

The Coming Snowpocalypse became the Everything Outside Is a Sheet of Icepocalypse. Yeah, staying inside today.

I did something yesterday I need to confess. I swiped my dad’s favorite African violet. The one he started from seed and grew with really pretty striped flowers. I want a cutting from that plant, but my allergies won’t let me stay in dad’s house past a couple of hours. (I was dizzy after sorting through the books last night.) It’s sitting in my window getting some sun, hanging out with the spider plant. I will give it back to Dad, just not yet. Not until I get my cutting and since I repotted it yesterday I’m going to have to wait a few days for the transplant shock to subside.

Yes, this is how badly I want pretty striped flowers. I will swipe plants from Dad while he’s not home.

Have you no imagination? :p:D

Maybe she just wanted to make some mozzarella cheese?

I love the ukulele!!! I have several CDs by the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain for in the car.

Watch the dude with the longer hair - he really rocks out as he plays.

I’ll pass and hope you end up with one of the March/April weekends I’m free. I was going to have to rush back to see 1776 Sunday so -----------
