An In Honor Of MMP

I want to make an iron that reads LTRYFM! and use it to brand the foreheads of morons. I’m reasonably sure Boo would like one too. Pity it’s illegal, I swear some people’s IQ will improve upon death because right now it’s below 0 on the Kelvin scale.

I suspect that it is indicative of the State of the World that I had no problem figuring out exactly what LTRYFM meant… :frowning:

I think what you mean is what Americans would refer to as “room temperature IQs.”

I believe we should start a Metric Movement to call them “We asked your weight not your IQ” people. In Kgs, of course! :stuck_out_tongue:
Pity that won’t work well in the US even if they do switch to kilos…
(also, it is a Very Bad Thing that my weight is almost of average intelligence, after the holidays! )

No, I mean these are lower. I’ve met people with room temperature IQs who at least made an effort at comprehension.

pokes Nooner’s tum

This means I get to poke you back!
(you may interpret this as raunchily as you wish :o:D)

And…, I forgot to mention that my height, while of Super-genius caliber, in not really Off The Scale (or, in other words, if measured in inches and farenheit, it may not be freezing, but it ain’t none too warm a height, either…)

OK, even my brain is hurting from these cross-scale comparisons, now…

nava and noonie, you are making me all

Big hugs to all who need them.

The happiest of happy anniversaries, li-li!
Them pies look Teh Yum, swampy. If I hadn’t already consumed mass quantities of bad for me stuff, I might take them on.

Quite chilly here this mawnin. I shudda stayed in bed.

My neck hurts. And not even the usual. This is the arthritis hurty part. :frowning:

Off to finalize billing.

Tupug

Happy anniversary, LiLi!

Am EXHAUSTED! Cleaned the house from head to toe in anticipation of Irish Boyfriend coming back tomorrow. He should go away more often - the house hasn’t been this clean in ages!

Am a bit stressed out at work because basically have been doing the work of two people - they used to have two guys doing my job - program managing and R&D, respectively, but then decided that no more major R&D work needed to be done for awhile, so just made me in charge of both. Which was fine until someone higher up decided that the entire program needed to be revamped, never mind the fact we’d just spent thousands of dollars on R&D work redeveloping a lot of the old stuff. Now I’m stuck doing major R&D work AND doing management and it’s driving me up the wall. I asked if I could outsource some of the R&D work but was told we don’t have any money left over for that. ARGH.

Off to work.

{{{{rubble}}}}

It will have to come out!

Happy Lissarversary!

{{{{Hazle}}}}

Ermmmm, what does LTRYFM mean??? All I can come up with is “Learn To Read, You F***in’ Moron”. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am currently engaging in a last gasp attempt to save my uterus - it’s called a radical trachelectomy, and I would need to go home to Australia to have it done, since there is nobody in Bahrain who can do it. But if there is any DAMN WAY I can save my uterus and maybe have another baby, it is worth the effort! Fingers crossed the gynaecological oncologist in Australia thinks I am a good candidate!

Happy Lissarversary!!

{{**kopek **and family}}

Good luck, dotty!

I’m working at work today, but I’m still somewhat grumpy and kinda wish I were at home instead. I just don’t want to deal with people, even though the people around me are good people. Or maybe I just want to crawl back into bed. That’d help too.

Hai everybody. Didja miss me?

Beautiful OP, herbs. Your mother sounds like a lovely person… also, I am totally appropriating the term “RPD”, because my grandmother suffers from the exact same thing. She used to be convinced that strange men would snatch me up off the street if I was walking after dark… and by dark, I mean 5pm, which is when the sun sets in November/December 'round these parts.

My grandmother is still with us, thankfully, though I’ve noticed that she hasn’t really been the same since we lost my teenaged cousin (her great-grandson) earlier this year. She seems to get tired more easily and rarely leaves her room any more, and she’s given up on her collages because her fine motor control is gone… which is terrible, because I’ve never seen her as happy as she was when she was cutting out bits and pieces of paper.

Her brain is as sharp as ever, though (sharper than mine, sometimes)… so I’m trying to find new ways to make her room a little more entertaining now that she’s spending so much time in there. She was thrilled to bits with the digital photo frame I picked up for her and loaded up with hundreds of family photos, so that ought to tide her over until I can think of something new. She’s the only grandparent I’ve got left now, and the one I’ve always been closest to, so I’m doing my best to make whatever years she’s got left with us as enjoyable as possible.

Happy anniversary to the Lissars! May you have many many more happy years together.

{{Hazle}} and {{kopek}}. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.

We had a lovely holiday with Mumsy Dearest. I made a traditional tourtiere and homemade tomato chutney using an old family recipe for dinner on Xmas Night along with a pear and cranberry crisp for dessert, and then had The Boy’s folks over for a Boxing Day brunch of quiche and saffron buns. We sent Mumsy on her way yesterday with a full tummy, and now I’m back at work for a day and a half until vacation kicks in again… wheee.

On that note, I suppose I ought to go fill out my annual evaluation. Ick. Why can’t they just take my word that I’m a great employee, instead of making me fill out a form laying out all the wonderful stuff I’ve done over the past year?

Why would it mean anything else?

I always like to apply RTFM to a situation.

Happy Lissarversary!

Well, we made it to Scotland with very little bother apart from me trying to stay awake all the way here. It only took 6hrs so it wasn’t such a bad trip and I got here just as it was getting dark, it’s pretty rare for me to get to do the end of the trip in daylight. Tonight is for chilling out and then tomorrow 'im indoors is off to catch up with a couple of friends. I think I might go shopping instead. Hmm…Lush…I am scenting a plan here.

His mother is very happy to see the pair of us, his sister has already asked when we’re getting married (she does that every time we visit) and I expect we’ll be grilled by the rest of the family at the new year’s eve party.

I feel the need for wine…

I understood LTRYFM immediately. That might be because I think that to myself several times a day at work.

Welcome back Special1. Glad you and the credit cards had a good time. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay for a safe trip BooFae. Next time y’all are asked about marriage just say, “as soon as my divorces become final.” Works every time!

I have a pot roast slowly heatin’ up and it’s makin’ da cave smell all nummy! I’s hongry!

Puggy the fried pies are teh yum but dang if’n that recipe ain’t a whole lotta work! BTW, if you like peach, it also works well with dried peaches. Even with the apple cider cause it gives the peaches a really good, unique flavor, imo.

Ok, off to umm… I don’t know but sump’n.

I just realized that I only have 5 weeks to finish the baby blanket that I just started. Yikes! I’m not a fast knitter, and I don’t have that much time on a regular basis so this is going to be a challenge! I didn’t really calculate how far off the beginning of February was when I started in mid-December. Pro’ly should have done that.

I think DH and I are now officially North Carolinians. After all that insanity with the DMV to get our drivers licenses, I had some insight into NCDMV’s ways and had a better feel for the rules of the game.

Wait for permanent NC licenses to arrive in the mail? Yep.
Forms found, filled out and printed on-line? Check.
Dug up the original title for the truck? Yes.
Called the insurance company to fix a typo and print new ID cards? Done.
Notarized it all? Absolutely.
Big wad o’ cash in hand? <pats pocket> Right here.

OK! Let’s go to the DMV!

I think we were in and out within five minutes with a new license plate in one hand and a bunch less cash in the other. DH was whining about how much it was, but quickly shut up when I showed him that we were paying half of what California was charging.

The new plate is now bolted to the truck and now, I just need something for the now-naked front bumper. Wonder if the neighbors would have any idea what the bear flag is about?

Thanks for the recipe, swampy.

Rosie’s sig to everyone else. I’ve got a really bad headache and I think it’s the result of my next doctor prescribed change in medicine. My dad put it into perspective for me, though. It’s definitely not as bad as the hives. Frustrating, though, as there’s really only one more thing left to try after this.

Swampy, sadly they know my divorce has been final for several years unless there’s a second husband nobody told me about!

BooFae that’s the beauty! You just say, " as soon as the other divorces are final. " Tell 'em the one in Albania is the big hold up.

gotti they’d just think y’all were into huntin’.

I make a good pot roast. But y’all knew that already.

Your welcome CutiePie!

That’s pretty subtle. I don’t think I would have guessed what it was. I probably would have said something about hunting if asked.
