In my opinion, some of the epic assholes are the ones that find it funny to cause chaos across the boards. Like the people who bump 10+ year old threads for no reason.
How about 6-month old threads?

Dio could read ancient Greek, which put him a cut above your typical undergraduate BA student. I’d argue he had also read more on the topic than the typical religious studies major. The ability to read the source material in its original language made him an asset to the board.

Dio’s specialty was not Islamic studies: he had no expertise there. His Buddhist knowledge was ok, but nothing special. The Orthodox Catholic Church split from the Catholic Church in the late antiquity/early medieval era, right? Dio was a c. 4-120AD guy.

I’d put him at the Masters level, though IIRC he didn’t have that degree. A PhD would have more experience teaching undergraduates, which provides a patience and acceptance of cruder opinions that he lacked.

You want epic assholes? Let’s go back to the SD on AOL. That was when the mod couldn’t just ban someone, they had to have enough of a TOS violation for AOL to take action.
Cyberian 54. He came out looking for a fight. He claimed to be a former marine and he was bound and determined to defend any and all attacks on Christianity, conservatism, and the American Way of Life. He did a damned good job disrupting the board because fools just could not keep from feeding that troll. A lot of good people left because of him. I think he inspired OpalCat to start her board.
Ben. I forget the rest of his screenname. He was a 16 year old one trick pony. He was book smart, yet socially stupid. Think Sheldon Cooper. His beef was age discrimination. Which wasn’t too bad to start, but when he started ranting about it was unfair for there to be laws against having sex with 6 year olds, our thoughts of him changed.
Manny Peoples. I don’t think that was his screen name, but that’s how we remembered him. He’d start of every post with “Many people ask me, and now I wonder…” and then he’d continue on to a generally very stupid question.
And once every month or two, AOL would put a link to the SD on their opening splash screen and we’d get hit with a bunch of hit and run folks who would either ask the gry and/or the parkway/driveway questions or want to know where they could get some clean urine or other advice on how to pass a drug screening test.
If there is an asshole list, I totally deserve to be on it. So should you. But for different reasons.
