A couple of time recently when I clicked on a link, I got an orgy of new windows popping up. I mean, like 30 or 40. They kept coming and coming.
Is that the SDMB problem, or my problem?

Don’t tell the deves reading Ewes Sluts that there’s an orgy thread in ATMB.
Blast. I thought this was going to be about a little-known Windows XP feature.
Dunno. I haven’t experienced this problem. Can you re-create the problem by clicking on the same link again, or does it happen randomly?
It sounds like a java bomb. Do you have the link?
I’ll try to dig around to find it again.
What’s a java bomb?
It’s a program that makes your browser open so many windows it eventually crashes.
So would that be something that has ended up on my machine, or is it something programmed into the Java of a web page?
If the former, how do I get rid of it?
It’s the latter. It won’t be on your puter.
D18:
I’d be very interested in knowing whether the link was provided by the board or in someone’s post.
Please tell us where the link is exactly.

Apologies for not being more helpful. The link would have been supplied in a post. I think that it was one that I was clicking to see how to figure out how to link to a specific message. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to ask about it immediately after it happened, but did so a couple of days after the fact.
Maybe it’s one of those UCFs (unexplained computer, er, foul-ups) that happen now and then.
I just had wondered whether anyone else had the same problem or not.
If it happens again, I’ll try to remember it better.
