I just happened to notice she’s not been around in a while. Does anyone know if she’s okay?

She last posted on her FB page on Sep 10. I don’t know if that’s ominous or not.
For some reason, I was confusing Anaamika with iampunha, who hasn’t run naked through a thread since 2011.
Taking a two week vacation, perhaps? Some industries have several weeks of shutdown each year, maybe she works in one.
iampunha is pretty active on FB.
I messaged her on Facebook.
She’s fine but says she “quit the Dope almost two months ago. I just got frustrated with people. I thought it would be better for my health!”
Tell her she’s missed.
She’ll be back.
I know how she feels. I quit for about two years, but I don’t think anyone noticed.
I noticed that she’s been more active on Facebook, but since I’m not very active here, didn’t notice her absence. I think quitting the Dope from time to time is probably good for everyone’s health.
See, this is why we need a “like” button, a real name requirement, pictures and videos and apps, a chat feature, a timeline format, and creepily inescapable reminders that you may know Mark Zuckerberg.
I hope she brings pie.
Personally, given a choice between hanging out on FB, or here, IMO she made the wrong choice.

If she finds the people on Facebook less frustrating than the folks here, well, she must have a better friends list than I have!

Did we? The last thread I remember her participating in was another misogynistic rape thread. I know that myself and two other long time, regular women Dopers were also quite upset with it.
There are a lot of good guys on the Dope, but if we don’t start policing our own misogynistic assholes and calling out the rampant condescending patronizing behavior towards women, the rest of us will go where Anaamika and Diosa (as well as a ton of others) have gone.
And maybe that’s fine, that this can be another place on the internet that has few female voices. Those that are our allies will continue to speak for us - or do their best, but we will have been silenced. Personally, I think it would be nice if you continued to hear directly from us.
