......and so the end is near

Of another year that is.

As my ol’ grandad used to say “Another year nearer the grave”
Cheerful soul my grandad, lost his leg in WW1, saved a fortune in shoe leather after that little mishap.
Having struggled through 2003 with all the trials and tribulations that it has thrown at us we are faced with yet another year of who knows what.
What will the coming year bring?
Laughter, merriment, good fortune, bad luck, romance, heartbreak, birth and dare I say it The Grim Reaper.
Whatever it does bring we will as brave and noble upright homo sapiens look it straight in the eye and say “Oh shit, not again”
and then go about our daily humdrum and pathetic excuses for existence.
But remember this when things seem just that little bit to much for you and a quick way out would be to drown yourself in a bath filled with beer…There is always the SDMB to turn to in those darkest moments when all seems lost.
Yes, The SDMB.
A place where questions can be asked and the RIGHT answer to those questions be given.
A place to have a laugh.
A place to berate your fellow posters.
A place of opinion.
A place of romantic exchanges.
Above all a place that beats the shit out of the cupboard under the stairs.

HAPPY NEW YEAR DOPERS, MAY IT BE A GOOD ONE FOR THE WHOLE CROWD OF YOU.

I thought this would be about the new Shatner album.

Well, I must be a clever li’l Vegemite, 'cause I knew this thread was New Year-related, and here it is New Years Eve for me this very minute! slugs back another glass of champagne

I wish you all the happiest of New Years. This one for me is starting out real quiet, so I’m hoping that’s a sign of things to come throughout the next 12 months. I’ve lived 5 years’ worth of life in just 1! This roller-coaster ride called “Life” can slow down, as far as I’m concerned.

Good luck, health and prosperity to you all for 2004.

*hums ‘Auld Lang Syne’ *

I graduate in 2004. That is very scary. It is a lot less scary that I’m into Wabash College now, though. So, here’s to the best year of my life, hopefully moving on to even better things!

New Year’s Eve is my birthday! You can ask twickster how old I am though, hehe! I love having my birthday this time of year, it’s a fun holiday.

Of course, in January I go in for kidney surgery, but tomorrow I am going to drink champagne!

Best of luck to you, Baker!

And Happy New Year, everyone!!

So far, it’s looking like 2004’s gonna be a pretty good year. If all goes well, and if I can keep up my morale and self-discipline, I should be graduating in 2004. It’s also pretty likely that I’ll be spending some time in Brazil (woo-hoo! I’ve wanted to travel there for years!) While I’m in Brazil, I might learn to scuba! (I really want to learn to scuba, and, while I’d be paid for all 3 months of Summer Quarter, I’d only be in class for, like, 5 or 6 weeks. That leaves an awful lot of playtime.) I’m learning to cook yummy Indian food, and I’ve decided that I’m finally going to learn to dance before I graduate (preferably before I go to Brazil. If, of course, I get the grant to go there.)

Now all I need is a meaningful romantic relationship, and I’ll be set.

Best of luck to you, Baker!

So far, it’s looking like 2004’s gonna be a pretty good year. If all goes well, and if I can keep up my morale and self-discipline, I should be graduating in 2004. And, if I have any luck, I’ll also get to spend 3 months in Brazil! I’m learning to cook yummy Indian food this year (see my thread on cookbooks in Cafe Society. I’m lazy, and I’m not going to look it up right now), and I’ve decided that I’m finally gonna learn to dance before I graduate.

Happy birthday ** Baker ** and it’s just as well it isn’t your liver that you are having surgery on otherwise it’s no booze for you mate.

Happy birthday Baker, good luck with the surgery. Happy, Healthy, Wonderful, Fun and Prosperous New Year to all Dopers.

Here’s to 2004 treating us all better.
