No, I didn’t watch the Oscars. I did see on the news this morning about the Best Picture fiasco. Regardless, I think we, in the MMP deserve an Oscar.
OK, do with that what you will. Happy Moanday!

First! Woot!
I missed the clip of the fiasco but it looks like they had a bit of a blunder there. I don’t bother with things like that, I watch the films I like to see and am not particularly concerned about how many awards it might or might not have. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the industry patting itself on the back and means very little to me.
In other news, your embassy in Lunnon has decided that we is both low-risk enough to qualify for global entry so we’re all sorted out for the next five years. I’m looking forward to trying that out in April.
Should I be concerned that moooom has started a thread in IMHO about having Dopers staying in your home? Is it because I posted a pic of my drink with a coaster and a soak-up thing as well? Is that OTT, even for the MMP?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 47 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and mostly cloudy with a chance of a stray tstorm or two so say TWPTB. We shall see. Today is defilthyfy da cave day which is actually pretty clean so just some spiffin’ up is all that’s needed. I have a poke loin in the slow cooker and need to decide what side matter to make.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, well, onward into the day! Rah!
Happy Moanday Y’all!
Merely a happy coincidence, tho it did lead me on a flight of fancy about couch-surfing around the world taking advantage of the hospitality of Dopers. Not that I’d do that - I’m old enough to have a credit card that permits me to stay and decent hotels. I don’t sleep on couches. Or futons. Or air mattresses. Nope.
Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work.
You should only be concerned if the topic was “what’s the quickest way to dispose of 2 bodies and steal their tea.”
Fortunately it was a pic of my Margarita so at least the tea is safe!
Just finished a coffee. Going to head to the family house today, I think.
I need to run some errands today, chief of which is picking up some rent money. I was too tired Friday to get it.
Also I need to write my story for the LJ writing thingy I’m playing in. A few weeks ago I wrote a tale about a little girl who was kidnapped and then it turned into a series. This week’s topic works perfectly with my ongoing tale so for the first time in a while I know immediately what I’m going to write.
The Dope was down  when I tried to post! All is well now, however.
Happy Moanday!
Blurf Ihatemyjob,ihatemyjob, ihatemyjob on Moandays.
The Oscar fiasco should never have happened. I would be furious. BTW my father’s name was Oscar.

Sunny, it was down for me too, but 10 minutes later it was fine.
So the shortest month of the year is ending and I need to prepare the march shopping list. Down to no more than a dozen or so rolls of toilet paper, so in the swampy mode, I am at critical levels and vast supplies must be sought of this invaluable resource. We’ll see.
Rain the next three days in forecast. Oh joy.
Saw one Oscar film this year (The Arrival, which I really liked) so gave the show a pass.
The painter showed up promptly at 8:30 this morning; I held the lobby door open for him without even recognizing him. We went up the elevator together, and he’s been scraping and painting away ever since. Luckily, the weather today has been gorgeous (in the low 80s), so keeping the windows open was not a problem. We’ll see what happens now that the sun has gone down and it’s getting colder.
It’s quiet in the apartment now. A friend from the states came to visit, so my wife’s been out for a few hours. Daughter #3 went to the movies with a friend. It’s just me, the painter, and the dog.
They like us!!! They really really like us!!!
So far I started laundry and fixed the loose faucets on the kitchen sink. I am rather proud of me and humbly accept this award.
Or if it was me; I do have a proud tradition of shooting Brits since 1972.
OK – most are Americans dressed as Brits and I am using blanks ----- but still --------
I saw that in ATMB. Luckily I missed that event this time around.
I’ve never had a painter - always did the deed myself, but I’m giving serious thought to hiring someone next time. I’ve gotten to the stage of my life where my time coupled with avoiding unnecessary aches is worth whatever it costs to have someone else do the chore. OK, within reason. If the quote makes me gasp, I’ll suck it up and do it myself.
I had a lovely half-hour walk before diving into my turkey sammich. It’s chilly enough outside that my ears were quite cold, but thawing is complete - huzzah! There is much work on my desk from 3 different people, and I’m glad they’re doing such a good job of keeping me busy. Makes the day zip by.
Errands have been run. Second pot of coffee is being consumed. Story is being contemplated.
I went to run an errand at the Mother base and discovered someone has scuffed up my front fender. No note, no nothing. GRRRRRR. I ran it by a body shop for an estimate and don’t want to involve the insurance. $597. I am going to get another estimate. There are no dents just scuffed paint. My first ding. I could just cry.
Howdy Y’all! Da cave is spiffed and the door knob on the back door has been replaced. The door knob came off in my hand this mornin’ of all things! I figured, well, it is twenty-one years old and took that as a sign to replace the whole thing. This meant I had to put on go out in public clothes and make a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek:, but I survived both, so go me! Smashed N.O.T., peas 'n carrots, and rolls shall be made to go with the poke roast. I shall even make a pan gravy for the smashed N.O.T. cause, well, gravy.
{{{Butters}}} sorry about the car ding.
Welcome Shinna Minna Ma! You shall be nicknamed shortly. First thing that comes to my mind is Shiney but someone else might have a better idea. May all the paint fumes dissipate shortly.
The last time that happened, I was lucky enough to buy just the latch assembly.
45 minutes to go!!! It’s been a busy day, and I’ve still got to make a stop on the way home. Wonder what we’ll have for supper??
