I dunno which one of 'em it was who deleted the two threads in question (one in SIMS and the other, for all of about five minutes, in the Pit), but DAMN that was fast!
Here’s the exact chat I had with one mod just a few minutes ago (chat usernames deleted):

me: sorry for the abruptness. that’s just … yeah.

So I take it that on weekends when you aren’t bathing on Mount Olympus or mixing things up with us mere mortals, you’re off at target practice?
And the rest of us don’t even get to see the bullet hole through the bullseye to ooh and aah over.
Betcha that was Coldy’s handiwork, based on the time; 4am EST suggests either a mod in Yurp perusing the boards over his Saturday morning coffee, or a West Coast mod (do we have any West Coast mods besides Arnold?) with nothing better to do at 1am on a Friday night.
Is this some sort of inside joke? If it is, maybe it’s best discussed through e-mail not in a thread (very limited audience, you know?). If not, how about a link or two?
Without glorifying the poster and threads in question, Anita, at least one qualified as very blatant, unapologetic (boorish and infantile) hate speech. I didn’t “get” to read the other one, but my guess would be that it followed at least a slightly similar vein, since the one was based off the other.
RT, my guess is the mod who’s usually up pretty early in the morning on the eastern seaboard (yes, even earlier than the New York mod couple:)), as that’s the one I talked to. However, it’s very possible, since neither thread was in that mod’s particular forum, that it was our well-known Roaming Moderator:) I dunno, and it’s not like the threads were shot from a mile away or anything, although we might easily label one of them a quickdraw, those threads were gone that fast!
Casey, the term “Putz Rifle” originated with a few posters some years ago. As I was not in discussion with any of those posters when it began, I can’t say I know the ultimate origin, but the term has become sort of an SD-ism since that time … although not quite to the extent of Og Smash, Gotcha Ya, Fucko Off or things of the like.
So, which of our eastern mods is the early-bird? Do we have a new NY mod couple? (We used to have a NY mod couple, but Cajun Man and DrMatrix now claim to be in Rock Island, IL. When did they move, anyway?) And who’s the “well-known Roaming Moderator”?
I had forgotten that they moved, RT. The Roaming Moderator is a Yurpean who, when MPSIMS gets a bit slow, tends to go see if anything else needs to be taken care of. And the mod who is up before God is The Biggest Little Stater, who sometimes wakes up before I go to sleep;)
Not completely obvious, but also obvious enough to anyone who knows the mods:)
